Agregor is a known sexist creep. It's impossible for me to find anything even remotely associated with him amusing.

I agree, seriously those three Jack ones weren't even trying to be funny. It was just blatant sexism dressed up to look like comic strips. Plus the fact that he then locks off the comments and dismisses the views of people criticising his works as being 'funny feminist issues' just makes me want to punch him,

Seriously though, it's men like him that make me ashamed that I am a male.

Honestly, were those three comics SO bad? I mean, they are so absurd that I would never be able to take them THAT seriously.

Yeah but the thing is, it really does look bad that he seemed to judge Jack for not looking in a way he considered 'feminine' and in turn the second one where he seemed to be suggesting that baddassery and aggression were typical male traits.
Now thing is, had he actually tried to defend his position I wouldn't have had a problem with it. If he had instead decided to respond to the carefully thought out constructive criticism that people were giving him about this then maybe people could accept it as a joke.

He chooses instead however, to hide all the comments and label all their concerns and opinions as 'funny feminist issues' which in turn only serves to validate the idea that he is a misogenist. Avoiding defending his work or trying to hand out any kind of qualifying statement ('no, I'm totally not saying that toughness can't be a female trait' etc) instead he just bails and leaves one final smart ass condescending remark in the process.

So to all reading, he has validated their opinion. He really does have a low opinion of women and he really did geniuenly believe all the things he said. Yes he judges women's worth by their looks according to what he, as a man, considers to be 'female qualities', yes he really does think that badassery and violence is a 'man only' thing and Jack just needs to learn to be more ladylike and yes he really does think that all the cruel experiments run on Jack were worth lols and no sympathy because he doesn't like her for the first two reasons.

Regardless of whether or not he truly believed it 'comments hidden due to funny feminist issues:D' says it all, and if you ask me, makes his whole position impossible to defend and in turn makes the accusations hard to rebuke. If he doesn't even bother to respond to the criticism, he has no way to defend himself and suddenly it doesn't look like a joke. It looks like blatant sexism tarted up into the form of a joke.

Still, that's just my view. I'm fairly politically minded you see.

There could be nothing more to his answer that he didnt take the negative feedback seriously either, but then again I dont know him so I couldnt know. Personally I think some people overreact way too easily, but that just an opinion and I dont have any rights to judge anyone so yeah, lets move on.

V Rex, though I totaly agree with what you are saying but I think this is a topic for another thread. I like this thread and i don't want this thread to turn into the bashing of one insignificant masogenist who frankly is not worth the trouble.

I know him in the real life. That works was "dedicated" to one artist who hates Liara and azari and loves Jack (her favorite character).

So, do not take it personally. It's just a game after all!

Tsk, from what you say, I would not be surprised if that person was me, since I'm a Jack fan and I don't like the way asari are handled in ME1. But he never told me a thing so I'm just making assumptions.
Anyway, better keep this misoginist stuff out of this thread.

While we're on the topic of feminity, this seems appropriate.

Siiiiiiiigh

Another Mass Effect comic, another insult to Ashley. It would be nice if they could actually put Ashley into a comic without making her the subject of stupid mockery just once.

I know this might seem like a petty gripe given this comic's content but still comparing Ashley to Eric Cartman is kind of like the acid filled cherry atop the fecal ice cream sundae that every Ashley fan has had forced into their faces every day by the mean people of the interwebs ever since they first commited the 'atrocious sin' of DARING to like Ashley in the first place.

So yes, I know I'm probably overreacting to this but it pisses me off greatly regardless.

Sigh..... my kingdom, inheretence, loved ones, possessions and internal organs* for all this hate for Ashley to just GO AWAY and let her have the same level of respect as everyone else.

*not literally, sorry any potential demonic entities who may have considered making an actual arrangement with me. Then again, I might not need to fear hell, since I have already played the Meat Circus level of Psychonauts...

Don't take this too bad, V-Rex, as a South Park style parody it works, I don't posted this with the intention to share an Ash dislike or so.

I share this kind of feeling sometimes... sadly almost every popular character in ME has a bunch of haters for each group of people who like him/her...  you have to deal with it, but without being so disapponted :)

Good god V-rex, have a little sense of self irony or atleast loosen up! But then again since we are talking about South Park parody and you take it personally, it fits perfectly into South Park spirit. Nothing holy in South Park. :D

Look, I have a sense of humor like anyone else. In fact I pride myself on my sense of humor at points, but still when you see a character you like subjected to inflammatory insult after inflammatory insult over and over again with ruthless and mean cruelty, you seriously lose your sense of humor about this whole thing in a hurry and let me tell you, it burns a bitter hole in your heart that results in anger, annoyance and sudden lust for violence.

Until everyone else knows what it's like to go around KNOWING that one of their favorite characters is reviled and loathed for stupid reasons, and that the B.S that gets said about them is accepted one hundred percent as fact, and that the only way they will ever appear in common works by the main fanbase is through harsh insults (seriously, most aren't even jokes. If Ashley were a real person she could probably sue for the way people portray her in web comics) I don't think I am in any position of judgement.

Until you know how it feels to go about on the web and get involved with friendly conversation with people, constantly terrified about how they might percieve your fandom of a certain character and having everyone turn on you with harsh accusations the instant you mention that you happen to like said character... you just don't know how it feels.

Like I said, this isn't that bad. I like South Park. But the fact that it's happening here too is just the cyanide icing on the cake filled with broken glass forced down my throat while everyone gets to scoff delicious white chocolate caramel mudcake.
