All I can say after seeing this article and watching the video is, wow. This is the reason why Final Fantasy Forum Moderators running a teenage forum should never be given a professional job as an Moderator or Guide in the game.

To threaten to ban anyone who dares sends him a message for ANYTHING he sees that he does not like for a service he pays for and then to ban every console that person ever logged onto is beyond any abuse I have ever seen for a paid service. This man needs to be fired and have him and his 47,000 points banned from Live.

Anyways do you believe what Xbox says to defend the Moderator?

That is messed up. But xbox will stand by there moderator because they will believe the mod over a internet video any day. even though the mod clearly abused his power

The video is too edited to tell what happened. All you hear are the responses from The Pro and you never hear what the agitator said/did.

watch the unedited version, besides that anyone who has played or plays "popular" games on XBL or PSN, knows how it is on their, IW used to frequently pop in matches on MW1, people would continue using their mods and most of these players are in the early teens if even that old at all.

I dont even play with a mic anymore online unless I'm in a full party of friends online, gives me a headache. If MS truly did abuse it's insta-ban power then why are their so many users people report for modding, that even try to sell their services through their XBL GT profile, that never get banned?

Personally it's nice to see jackasses get banned for modding/cheating/violating TOS, especially when those of us who do not violate TOS who pay monthly.yearly to play on XBL have to deal with this crap all the time.

Pious, if you look further down the page, you'll see the unedited videos, and realize those guys deserved their bans.

Unedited video link.  Deserves a ban.  What's funny is The Pro can call the parents (MS Mods have done that before), but the worst part is I'm sure when he talks to the parents, the parents will stand by their child's side.

Anyone went to the guy's youtube page?
Every other word on his videos is "hack" this or "mod" that.I've been suprised by the number of people jumping on the moderator when the video is clearly edited *facepalm*.

I'm pretty sure the squeaker I played with once named "AHerdOfNi*****" deserved his ban. Xbox Live "gamers," for the most part, are one of the scummiest online communities that has ever existed besides 4chan. There's a good bit of prepubescent, puerile spillover between those communities actually. Makes you wonder. Anyway, sure, there are some great people on Xbox Live, but I feel the ban is pretty justified. Xbox is way softer with their banhammer than most online communities would be because they're so dependent on the revenue. Far more people still have an account when they should be banned IRL than have lost an account unjustifiably.

Well, I don't have a problem in the least with them getting banned. Better for them to learn the consequences of their stupid mistakes now when the cost is really low (compared to Real Life) than to learn it later when their mouths could get them in trouble with, say, their bosses, their profs, gangs, co-workers, etc. Let them whine all they want. They'll learn that doesn't get them very far in life, either. /Jae pulls out microscopic violin and plays a tune while the kids' XBL account burns

Though I agree with the banning, the attitude the moderator exhibited was uncalled for and very unprofessional. I used to moderate a moderately sized forum for several years and though I had plenty of people who insulted me (and cyber stalked me) for banning them, I never gave them attitude back. If you do, you only encourage them to return and act up even worse than before....because let's face it, a ban is terribly easy to break. Proxies, non-static IPs...it doesn't really do much. Even the creator of the video stated this was his "fifth account".

Thankfully I don't play FPS's on the consoles. It's bad enough playing Team Fortress 2 and L4D2 on Steam. I'd say 20% of the people there are jerks, while on Xbox Live it's more like 90%.

Add the Cops to that list. :D

There's some very sick puppies out there... I too am no fan of those that don't respect other Gamer's fun.

Sounds about right.

As an aside, I will never pay for an XboxLive account.

Firstly its an M rated game the kid shouldn't be playing it in the first place, Secondly that kid was completely out of line, if any of you have had the displeasure of playing a game with kids that act like that you would want him not only banned from Xbox live but muted permanently in life as well.

I'll have you know that Rock Band 2 and Lego Rock Band are a blast to play online.  Worth every cent.  Then again, I only play with people who I already know, so that makes a difference.

I will never pay for PSN. That's just how it rolls.

Also, is five bucks a month really that bad? Isn't it just, your know, five bucks a month? If you encounter jerks online, just ditch them.

I have not even seen the videos (can't at this station) and I'm pretty sure, yes they deserved the ban.

When you sign up for X-box Live you are submitted to 'Terms of Service' and generally that means it's a sentence to comply by their rules, their playstyle and if you fail to abide, you're going to get banned for being a frelling idiot.

Seriously, it's better to NOT go online for this exact reason.

Having owned both consoles and played online on both, I have to say the PSN community is more "mature"... well, as mature as you will get when you put gamers behind an annoyimous screenname! I have a friends list of 100 people. Only 2 of them are under 20. I have been in a multiplayer match with a kid a grand total of once (It was an uncharted 2 game sigh). The PSN surveys put median age at 27-37 age group... I suppose that kinda reflects my friends list as well so it can't be that off.

On Live, I don't think I have come across more than 10 people over 25, and I can't remember a single match without a kid. :P

You do know that they aren't removing free online, right? They simply want two services: one that's free w/ all the current features, and one with more features (but you have to pay!).

I'm hoping to get a PS3 for next Xmas, Xbox 360 can kiss my bum. (I'm hearing a LOT of disturbing rumors of Xbox 360s dying by the barrelloads, but I can't vouch for or confirm the Intel.) For that plan survey link, i'm too darn poor for that kinda thing, but if I wasn't, I would vote for Plan 3. Least amount of useless (to me) features & the only good feature it lacks is the Free PS1 Game Play. The fact that it's the cheapest Plan is a factor as well.

My point is that the features of the paid version are such that you most likely be willing to pay for the extras. I know I'd  pay 70 dollars a year for ever PSOne game and all the  mini games. if you just buy 7 of the games in a year you all ready pay that anyway.

Play late at night. I work a wierd schedule so I tend to play between say 11PM and 3AM. Much less "kids" on at that hour. Plus, I mostly play with my real life friends and they are in my age group of course.

Also, and I assume PSN has a similar feature, you can set your privacy settings on Xbox live so that ONLY your friends can hear you and you can ONLY hear them. Solves all those problems in one fell swoop!
