Is it me or does the squad ai work pretty well until you give them a specific order?

If i don't order my squadmates to a specific place they shoot good, find cover good and overall kickass.

Once i tell them to take cover at a specific location however they start spazing out and get dropped pretty quickly.

Im no computer whiz, but does it have something to do with the fact that if you give them a order they are very restricted to that specific spot and should they be knocked out of cover the restriction doesn't allow them to back into cover?

Maybe instead of designating a specific spot instead designate a general area a squadmember should stay in to fight and look for cover? Maybe it would be a simple fix to for ME3.

Anyway, i don't give alot of orders to my squadmates anymore and i find them pretty useful, they go down alot less and dish out alot more damage so i think the programming is there just needs to be looked over when giving orders comes into the equation.
