I was messing around with the coalesced editor and now I have these huge window borders while playing in fullscreen mode, the borders go away if I change it to windowed mode however. So I reinstalled the game thinking it might have been some setting I changed and the problem persists.. The new patch is coming out in less than 20 minutes and now I can't play the game because its squeezed between two HUGE black strips so the game looks super stretched and it is unplayable..

Anyone else run into this problem and know how to solve it?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: It seems like some resolutions can get rid of the borders. What it seems like is that the lower widescreen resolutions (anything below 1440 x 900) do not scretch to fit the screen, rather they only stretch to the fat borders at the top and bottom of the screen. I distinctly remember 1280 x 800 running at fullscreen and now I have these stupid borders.

UPDATE 2: Even if I use a 4:3 resolution, during every conversation or cutscene I still have the huge borders at the top and bottom of the screen, this is becoming quite the headache.. The borders are definitely caused by some setting since the border is a lighter black than the normal resolution borders, I just don't know what setting would cause cutscenes and conversations to impliment screen borders and why when I reinstalled, it didn't change anything.

UPDATE 3: When I change the resolution to 1440 x 900, the borders become smaller, but are still there.. I don't get it.

More like one hour and 10 minutes till the patch is released. It's 1pm MST, not EST.

So you should be setting it @ 1920x1080, in the config, make sure you set windowed to fullscreen. Aspect ratio to widescreen.

I too am experiencing this and I've also had this issue with Dragon Age(ever since I decided to patch it)

Is this really that rare that no one seem to know anything about it?

Not really it just has 3 configurations in the config utitlity that make a difference in how it looks.
You have 4:3 resolutions, 16:9 resolutions and 16:10 resolutions and you need to set it correctly before you get the propper result.

Now why did you necro a year old thread to post a one liner comment??  If you had an issue, then post the issue, if you just felt like necroing a dead thread, then please don't.

The most common reason is you are running the program in the wrong resolution ratio. You are currently using a 16:9 format, and if your monitor is a 4:3 or a 16:10 then it will be off when have cutscenes usually. So easiest thing to check is which format monitor do you have and have you tried changing from 16:9 to a different ratio in the config utility?
