You know, honestly I'd be satisfied if they just said that the morphological difference between sexes for Turians was very small. And there's no reason a female Turian should talk in a 'feminine' tone of voice, for all we know the Turian councilor is female.
I just threw up a little...

And I'm fairly sure salarians lay eggs in water, which implies they have a "tadpole" stage.

Laying eggs is also a decent reason for Turians to have a lot of females serving in the military - once the egg is laid, in theory anyone can take care of it, so mommy can go off and fight.

One more quick thing, here. The Salarians and Krogan do not "put their women in the kitchen". Salarian females make up only 10% of the population and actually control Salarian governance and society. Krogan females have their own clans, but they are not rare. We probably should have seen one by now, actually. Only fertile females are considered special, the rest are as tough and nasty as they males.
How do you know we didn't? Many amphibians don't have huge differences between the sexes. For all we know, the Salarian councilor (in me 1) is a female. It'd make sense too, given salarian women are the politcal leaders of their race.
Also, we don't know that there are no female turians, they could just have slightly different tattoos/head feathers that humans can't tell apart.
Oh, and the whole "only mammal's have breasts" is wrong, at least in the way you all are thining. Very few mammals have the mamary glands that we think of when we think of breasts, most just have a nipple, like cats, pigs, dogs, etc. So, even if there is a mammal analogue based off a cat or dog or even most apes, it wouldn't have to look too curvy (although it would to make money off of the crowd that usually buys games).

Sure there is. They haven't been needed to add to the story. *shrug*

There's also a female krogan, for those interested, hanging out by the shaman on Tuchanka. She is wearing a shawl. Her voice is very deep but sounds distinct from the males, and she is also smaller than the males. Since she's being used as a messenger, though, you could assume she's a non-fertile female; they wouldn't let the fertile ones visit with the main clan for safety reasons. She keeps yelling warnings at you if you stand nearby.

The guy near the shaman is an envoy could be female I suppose, but I got the impresion that it was a male, talking about being young, but important because of his job.

I am pretty sure there is a female Krogun on Mordians loyalty mission. She is dead (the fertility volunteer), but I'm pretty sure there is a body to look at.

Isn't the Krogan on Noveria in ME1 a female?

That said, anyone playing the game around the Samara loyalty quest, let me know if I'm right about the female turian please. I don't like the fanart one that's been floating around--it looks too cartoony to me, and it also has a suggestion of breasts. I don't think turians would have boobs, guys. They're lizard-bird things.

No Turian females are equals to the males, they fight just as well as the males. So as much as I hate to agree, BioWare is lazy here. I can understand Salarians and Krogan women, but Turian women have no reason not to be in ME1 and ME2. Devs can solve this problem by just adding a female Turian as a squad mate in ME3 or as a DLC in ME2.The Angry One wrote...
Who knows, I had thought Turians keep females in the kitchen like Salarians and Krogan, but according to Garrus this is not so.
BioWare are just lazy.

The one thing I do find a little funny is how this topic has gotten so far. Is this really about Bioware seeming lazy or is it edging more towards a sexual lust for alien pornography?

Some people like that kinda thing... each to their own. What makes any of the aliens attractive in these games isn't so much their external appearance, but their very human characters; we can identify with and relate to them, so we get attached to 'em.
As for female Volus and Elcor... I imagine the only difference with the Volus (thanks to the suits) would be in their voices, and the Elcor... maybe there should be no difference at all there; they all sound and look more or less identical to us, only they can automatically perceive the difference. Would still like it to be referenced somewhere in the game, whatever the case.
As for Turian females... I have this idea that they may well look very similar to males (with some minor differences in perhaps crests, mandibles, colouration, etc.), but may be bigger or smaller in build. Garrus's comments on reach and flexibility suggests perhaps a smaller frame (if she was taller, she'd have been the one with reach), but his load-bearing waist comment (perhaps based on a Turian ideal of femininity) suggests a requirement for the lower body to support weight, which suggests to me a larger torso (which if they retain Turian proportionality at least) and thus a larger build... nothing to prove either concept, alas. Or it could be about weight support during mating... *ahem*
Garrus, you sly dog you

We hardly see any Volus or Elcor at all in ME1 & 2. All salarian females stay on their homeworld and raise the children as well as run the world. Batarian females should be in the game as well. But other than Asari, Turians are the most seen race in ME. And it was pointed out they fight along side the males, so they don't sit at home and raise the kids. They should be in ME as much as we see human females.Jensaber wrote...

I would like to see what the female turians look like. It'd be nice. And frankly, I don't care if they have boobs or not. Yea, they're all aliens, so they should look it. But at this point, anything would be awesome.
