This time Im going to go renegade and hook up with Jack or Miranda. I completed the game first time 75% paragon 25% renegade and hooked up with Tali. The game seems to be more fun on Hardcore and we'll see what happens though with boss, collector encounters.

Hardcore seems to be the difficulty which is the perfect combination between smooth gamewise progress and tactical requirements.

Normal, I think that was the default but half way through I upped it to Veteran because it was way to easy.

I'd much rather play on Hardcore than Insanity. I know some people have no problem with it, but I just can't bring myself to work that hard on a video game, haha. Hardcore just seems more...balanced.

That's the only reason I am playing through on Insanity. I got the game for the story, but have a thing about achievements... damn them!

I'd go right for insanity if I were you. Hardcore did not have any measurable increase in challenge over the easy levels. Insanity is the only difficulty in the game that gives any kind of challenge and makes you have to think about stuff.
Serious, Im not bragging or anything, but start playing with a low level character (not New Game +) on insanity up to Horizon or so, then start a game on Hardcore, you'll be bored to tears.

I said the same thing. Did Insanity on my second time through, switched to Hardcore for a more laid back experience, but after Insanity, Hardcore felt too easy. It's only Insanity for me now.

Insanity isn't that difficult really. It snaps you out of some bad habits, though. Like, you can't expect to be shot a lot and live... I think this translates over into real life too?
