Happens to me alot myself.
My only suggestion is save before touching the door. Seems to MAGICLLY fix the problem.

Use the melee attack key.
It's not "F", and it's not whatever key you've bound to Leave World. It's whatever key you've bound to melee attack.

I don't see the point, beta tester are not meant to fix bugs, they just find / provok them and put describe them for the data base, it doesn't mean it will be fixed, the dev focus on the most important bug.
I'm not saying that beta tester did report it, but it's unlikely, on PC after 15 playthrough, i got this bugs 7 times, it's a too high value to be missed.
The dev team are pretty busy, and alpha, beta test are done when the game is still made; when a dev spend time correcting a bug, this is not spend on devlopping the game (there is no debug team, the one who debug are in most case the one who create).
Devs can't afford to spend too much time, that why they rarely correct all the thousand bugs described in the database.

Good for you dude, I was doing his mission last evening (on the PC) and until today, the bug is still present. I just passed up the 3k credits to end it.
BTW, the other reply said that he was able to end it and had gotten the 3k. Is it because he chose to kill Mordin's student? My choice was to let him free. I'm building an almost pure paragon Shepard. But the thing is, it didn't work for me so I reloaded and end it with the dialogue...too bad.

After the battle on thje platform with the krogans and vorchas, the save feature is locked, be it on the menu or the quicksave button. Meaning you CAN'T SAVE. It will automatically save before entering the final door.

(1) This particular thread concerns what happens after dealing with Maleon, and the inability to finish the mission when prompted to press a certain button. As far as I know at that point the game cannot be continued. Typically one would have to reload in order to complete it. You seem to be referring to another part of the mission and writing about freezes (quite frankly I don't think there are any fixes for freezes judging from my experience).
(2) You state you are on the PS3, and I would recommend you ask the same question on the PS3 boards as they will have more info relevant to your format.

Your language use also suggests you are on PC, so fixes for the PC might not apply for the 360 version.
