Can anyone better that or is it even possible to get 20/20?

Good god, I can't even get more than 13 crates on Veteran. How the heck do you get so many on Insanity?

On Veteran the Cain heavy weapon can take out all mechs at once (run, shoot, all 20 saved, call it a day). I'm guessing it's not that easy on Insanity, but I haven't tried.

I just assumed you needed to shot them all once to get their attention, then the crates are safe..you just have to survive it. Not true?

Got 19 this try. Yes all the mechs are close enough to tag with Cain but you only take the down to half armor. You have to kill them one at a time, only when the agroed one is dead can you proceed to get the next ones attention.

Yes, in this video I aim on the ground, trying to hit somewhere between the three mechs and destroy them all, which works - up to and including Veteran difficulty at least:


But the Cain is considerably less devastating on Insanity, so without having tried I assume the same tactic won't work.

You can't kill them all on Insanity, but two of them pass close together a few seconds in, so you can kill one and severely damage the other. I'm guessing that's how the OP got 19 crates.

I've never gotten 20 on Insanity, but then I've never really tried.

What are the rewards for this, anyhow? I never get more than a little cash and I think there's a single mineral stash or hacking terminal with some cash. Is there some mega-reward for getting all 20?

I am level 25 and I just got 20 crates on insanity.



It took about 10 tries but it was super satisfying when I did it.



I was playing soldier with heightened AR. Open with Cain, and unleash hell on the first mech.

Then stripped the closest mech of its armor asap, and chain overload(I use miranda and garrus) with your companions to 'stunlock' it while you grab the 3rd mech's attention.

Drones work wonders to get their attention. The trouble is they don't last very long on Insanity. The closest I've come to is 18. If I get Tali and Legion to drone spam two of them to stop them from destroying boxes and then AI Hack one myself after the Cain shot, it may just be possible.
