Would you put it on a squadmate vs the Avenger AR?amrose2 wrote...
It's anti-shield mostly. Aside from using it because it sounds and looks cool, I'd only use it when you know you will need something to burn a shield quickly (Geth missions)

That can't be right though... compared to the others it looks like the Geth Pulse Rifle is incredibly weak. :\\

Those kind of charts are never accurate, there is too many variables

Perhaps not accurate to the decimal point, but in general, they provide some perspective. Variables such as accuracy and a player's skill level are usually relative. By that, I mean you can say the pistol is more accurate the shotgun but you wouldn't be using a shotgun at a pistol's range. You would close in to the shotgun's most effective range.Dark Slayer1458 wrote...

Anyway, I find it quite odd that you question the mathematical validity of those charts and place more importance on the opinion of the first random stranger to answer your thread. I would personally believe in the chart or personal testing in game.

It's to do with the gun's rate of fire. It's variable. I hear it's actually supposed to do the same kind of damage per shot as the Avenger, overall.
It's not really one of my faves. It's an assault rifle that wants to be a submachine gun... only the Tempest is a better short range weapon and all the other ARs wipe the floor with it (including the Avenger).

Further, almost everyone in this thread attested to its ability to absolutely destroy shields (and those that didn't attest to it simply didn't comment). However, according to the wiki, the GPR only has a .1 greater multiplier against shields than the avenger. However, the avenger definitely doesn't strip shields nearly as quickly.
There must be something going on with the GPR that we can't see in the .ini file. My money is on it having something to do with the variable rate of fire.
Even if those numbers are right, it having the fastest rate of fire in the game is beneficial for effects that have a %chance to occur. IE - if cryo ammo has a 10% chance to activate per bullet, then shooting more bullets per second gives you a much larger chance to freeze the target more quickly (and as far as we can tell, the chance isn't based on damage). This is also true for disruptor ammo vs. mechs.

how do you get the geth pulse rifle?
Game difficulty must be hardcore or higher when doing the Tali recruit mission. It's in one of the rooms on the floor towards the end of the mission IIRC.
