Actually Adept in ME 1 was clearly the most overpowered class. Nothing could touch you. You only died on Insanity if you took dumb risks by being arrogant, which I often did. Otherwise, you could lock down a room and laugh as even the strongest enemies were frozen/floating/weakened.

What a god damn moron. A vanguard WAS an adept, only BETTER.

Vanguard with Singularity bonus talent was an Adept that could wear Medium Armor and not look stupid. That was win in my book.

And it's not like there's even any enemy snipers in the game to countersnipe you.

snipers would be an excellent dlc enemy type to introduce.

Despite the brief flame up about ME 1, I think most classes in ME 2 are pretty balanced. You can beat the game with ANY class, even on Insanity. You may die a million times with one class versus another, but it is still completely beatable.

Vanguard is far from ruined, OP is just horrible and was apparently expecting invincible-mode.

An Adept with assualt rifles was pretty set though. You don't need armor with a full barrier, and with the ridiculous recharge times you could have barrier up all the time.  More than that, every biotic power minus a full stasis was useful.  You only needed the latter to get up to the point where you could damage a frozen enemy.

My Adept run on Insanity was absurdely easy and it seems we are grasping at straws here as frankly Insanity was easy for many classes.  As a soldier just thrown on Immunity and ram the closest enemy.  As an Adept, Singularity and then fire every other biotic randomely=win.

You don't seem to know what subjective opinion means.  Let me explain it to you so a child (you) can understand.

The only OBJECTIVE measurements we have are perhaps damage output per second or MAYBE how quickly a class can complete Insanity.  Both are flawed as an Adepts damage output would be below a soldier, perhaps, but still would manage to lock down a room.  Ultimately, we come down to personal preference.  It seems in your mind you are totally convinced that somehow your opinion is holy writ from the Pope himself, guaranteed and infallible.

Also, you are arguing about fictional classes over the Internet.  If you cannot see the "idiocy" in that, then you are quite beyond hope yourself.  Ciao!

Is that an attempt at wit? If you're going to insult someone, at least check your spelling before you try to be clever. That's kindergarden level vitriol right there.

its true, good trolling is at least socratic in its ability to evoke a response.

Couldn't agree more. My Bastion runthrough was nothing short of a joke! I could literally run into the middle of a room and just annihilate everything (Shotty was my bonus, and what a bonus!). The shotty just made the Singularity even more lethal! I would throw a Singularity, Stasis 1 enemy in the Singularity for a still target, then Warp them followed by Master Carnage. Just about everything caught in the Singularity takes a fair amount of damage, and the enemy you directly hits nearly always dies!

Bastion = ME1 God.

As an Engineer, run up to a Colossus while you use your and Tali's Sabatoge and Kaiden maxed Lift to keep it down(so to speak) while you beat it to death with a pistol.

. . . Okay, maybe not easy, but funny  as hell though.Image IPB

It helped that you had teamates who could fill in for every power you lacked - Liara was just as good as a full adept, Wrex a vanguard, ect.

Yeah, I think we are all bummed as there really no SUPER OVERPOWERED GOD classES in ME 2. Infiltrator is powerful, but it still lacks the wow factor of annihilating a room in seconds.

I imagine if ME 3 pushes the level limit to 60, we will see some high level ridiculous powers though...maybe Adepts will finally get their due in ME 3...

ok.. everybody does have to admit.. the first 5 levels of Vanguard suck.. and then its still a little painful upwards to 10.. but after that.. the game is a breeze. My fastest playthru on insanity was with the Vanguard - due to rushing to the very last guy and stopping all spawns.

Hmm think i agree with OP. I loved me2 and i will defeintly buy me3. - if they continue to patch me2 that is.

but the combat system could have been much better, unlitimited ammo and a bigger diversity in building was more fun imo.

Actually, kindergarden is regionally correct in my area. What is worse, to not be aware of a fact, or to have a mind sloppy enough to make spelling errors every other sentence?

If you are doing a badly with a class, you simply suck at that playstyle. You telling Bioware to stick to RPGs and not shooters when you yourself do best with a soldier seems a little ironic, don't you think?

Hmmm, really? In my gaming experience, the Vanguard class is significantly better in ME2. It brings back the close-combat action I was hoping for all this time.
