Hey guys I'm just wondering what the forum thinks. The title says it all. At the moment I'm stuck between Champion or Templar. Which one is better for sten?

I usually make him a Reaver. But Champion is a better spec than Templar, in my opinion.

Alastair is a templar, I usually make Sten a Champion - makes more sense to me from a RPing standpoint too.

Yep I made Sten a champion too. Loved every second of it. Not sure he did though.

I have mostly made him a Champion, did make him a Reaver once, Prefer Champion, it is more of a controlled Specilization, giving focus of the mind, very much the Sten.



So Reaver doubles up with Berserker on Oghren.

Depends, If I'm using him to tank I go Champ, anything else, Reaver

I go for Champion because it just hurts my poor little inner roleplayer to do Berserker or Reaver, but if I hadn't had Alistair around on the playthroughs with Sten I might well have gone Templar. I can't see how you can kit two guys out at once with 100% spell resistance gearsets.

If you play on the PC, there is mod that fixes Sten so he gets 2 specialisations, like everyone else...

I usually do Champion and Berserker...

Depends on what I plan to do with the secret companion. If I'm taking him, I actually like Sten as a Templar. I like the Templar abilities and the Templar-only armor is awesome. If I'm keeping Alistair, then any of them work well for Sten. Champion is nice - passive boosts for the party and an area knockdown. Berserker works but is an even harder RP stretch for me than Templar (at least with Templar I can say he's learning the ways of those pesky Templars whose Exalted Marches stopped the Qunari in the past).

Thanks guys. I was leaning towards champion too.

I nearly always make him a Reaver - simply because I think 'Frightening Appearance' fits him. Though now I use a mod that makes him start as a Reaver so he gets 2 specs.

From a practical perspective, I'd say Champion.

I like berserker, works well for 2hers
