When I run the .exe I get an error:

"Mass Effect 2 was not found."

"Please reinstall the game and try agian."

I've reinstalled the game and it still doesn't detect it, i've also installed all the dlcs and those went smoothly with no problems so I dont know whats up. Anyone else having this problem?

try running the launcher program (as an admin if you're in vista or win7) and then attempt the patch installer again.

I right clicked it and ran it as administrator and I get the same problem.

Lol nvm....I fail.....I renamed the MassEffect2.exe to UT3 so I could force AA....
But I really do appreciate the response time on the reply, Bioware and its staff are awsome.

I also get the 'Mass Effect 2 was not found..' under Windows 7 64bit. Tried running in XP SP2 mode but didn't help.

If I have the launcher running the patch then complains that ME2 is running and that it should be closed...

Same problem here, seems that the patch installer looks only in the default directory c: and not in the others.

I have all my games installed in a different directory and never had a problem... -_-'

For what its worth... I have the game installed on my K:\\ drive and it patched to V1.01 fine.

Did you guys notice that the OP solved his own problem (and mine!) ?? I also used to run ME2 as UT3.exe to force AA. Then I forgot about it, and when after 2months I was trying to install patches, they wern't working. Just rename the exe to MassEffect2.exe, the patch should work.
