lol, But aren't vorcha mindless animals? Granted they're slightly sapient, but I don't think they have the mental faculties yet to even compare to the other races

"The vorcha? They're like the varren, only they can use guns and they don't crap on the floor as often."

...can't remember who says this in game off-hand. ;)

If batarian squadmate is added, I'd like the option to not recruit him if I get the chance.

Agreed.

Id want a Raoli (sp) squad mate, think it would be cool if they had wings to, they could fly above or behind an enemy and boom shotgun to the face

I don't know about squadmate but I would like to actually see them in Mass Effect 3.

Don't care what race it is, as long as it's a "Biotic God!!!"

I actually wouldn't mind a Batarian. One thats been exiled maybe, for his views on humans and the council.

I bet everyone who's against a Batarian squad mate on the grounds of a racial stereotype (that all Batarians are terrorists) agreed to endorse the Terra Firma candidate on the Citadel. ;)

You can store him in the Normandy's fish tank.

The fish tank is already occupied by Shepard's stalker fan club: Legion and Tali.

Not really 99% of all batarians we've met have been racist criminals, slavers, mercs etc.

I agree. People who oppose a Batarian squad mates are just Terra Firma partisan political hacks.

That sick Batarian from Mass Effect 2 showed that not all Batarians hate humans.

All the racism against vorcha makes me lol. There's only one conversation in the whole game with a vorcha. In their codex entry, it implies that part of the problem is the social stigma they possess. They live parasitically, and everyone perceives them as animals, so they can't get education or jobs, and I'm guessing that vorcha culture, like krogan culture, is very anti-intellectual. They probably are pretty stupid in comparison to other sapient species, but like Mordin said, every species has outliers. And yes, the vorcha may adapt physically, but with their birth rate and death rate, they should actually be evolving faster.

Part of the problem I think is that the vorcha are just very socially isolated. Everyone hates them, and the vorcha are very cliquish. There was that one radio broadcast on Omega about how people were afraid the vorcha were taking over all of the low-wage jobs and saturating the market. I could see a vorcha squad mate in 3 instead of a krogan squad mate (which has been the case for 1 and 2). I mean, Grunt isn't as smart or wise as Wrex, but he was still a good squad-mate.

Sorry but your ideas are all lame. Conrad Verner is better. Fact: Conrad Verner could kill Blasto by doing a back flip.

That's a complete lack of reasoning. Did you listen to any of the stuff he said up until the point you healed him? He is intensely hateful of humans. All Batarians that have been in the games are hateful of humans, and almost all endorse pretty awesomely illegal activity. Plus they are completely uninteresting as a race. They're like humans with four eyes. No crazy biotic powers, no advanced life span, no constantly-regenerating, redundant organ systems, no crazy technical skills, no cool Garrus eyepatches, nothing.

Anyone that wants a Vorcha or a Batarian as a squadmate is pretty much just fighting for the underdog to a naive and boring degree. Elcor all the way.

I have the feeling that there'll be a batarian squadmate in ME3. I think that just comes from the fact that we haven't thus far... a bit like how the salarian squaddie was kind of inevitable in ME2 and then we got Mordin.

Still want a biotic volus who can charge himself up and shoot around the place as a spinning ball of death, ala Sonic.

I agree with this sentiment.  We'll see a Batarian squad mate solely because Bioware will probably want to give us a squadmate in Mass Effect 3 from a species we haven't seen before in our former squadmates and there aren't many humanoid alien species left to choose from.

I don't think anyone was dissapointed with Mordin so I think Bioware could do a good job with a Batarian squad mate.

Getting a very hostile vorcha slave would be a great example of expanding the moral choices you make in mass effect when recruiting a squad mate. You can either take it out of its misery (paragon) or keep and and the crew will hate you for it (renegade).

I'm going to go against everyone else and simply say no. The sentient races we have on the team are good enough, and the amount of aliens is also good enough. However, if we are going to put in bunkbeds in order to acommodate more people, I would like more of the ones we alreay have - humans, asari, drell, you know them all. Because, let's face it, the sentient races available that are not in the team are mostly a) useless or B) not interesting enough:

Hanar - can't use guns. In a game where combat is so important, a non-shooting team mate is just baggage.

Volus - too small, too slow, to fragile. One rip to their suit and they die - they are even worse than quarians.

Vorcha - could possibly work, but they are not interesting enough. They are cannon fodder, and as such they have no place in a high-risk combat unit as Shepard's team actually is.

Batarian - could work, but would be quite boring - another human model but with an alien head - yaawn. Besides, since the batarians are in much slave traders I doubt many Shepards would want one on their team - my Shep would certainly not having fought them off at the Blitz, had his parents taken by batarian slave hunters on Mindoir and seeing what they tried to do with a certain asteroid. As paragon as he is, I doubt he would see the batarians as much more than target practice.
