Ok so i had the redcliffe elite shield for most of the game and its the best i came across so far. Is there anything better than it??

Howe' Shield: 6 + 12 def (Highest def shield)

Fade Wall: +stamina, +stamina regen, ok def

Eamon's: +stamina

Duncan's, Dead Coat of Arms: + stamina regen

Calin's (dlc): Massive stamina regen for the set

There's also the Champion's Shield, it's one the best shields you can get early on as long as you gave Leliana points in cunning. You can steal it from Vartag Gavorn in Orzammar.
