BioWare and Sony have now published a patch for the PS3. Please check
your Playstation Home network or Dragon Age: Origins launcher for
details.
Patch notes:
- Various changes have been made to code and resources to support the Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening expansion pack.
-
At higher levels, non-player characters now receive a bonus to armor
penetration. This mitigates an unintentional imbalance with
well-armored high-level characters, since armor penetration previously
did not scale as aggressively as armor itself did.
-
Elite-rank enemies (lieutenants) can no longer be shattered. This
preserves the intended tactical design of many combat encounters.
- Portraits for summoned creatures were displaying improperly while in the party camp. This no longer occurs.
-
All book-based specializations will now automatically unlock once the
Warden reaches level 14. Books will still be available from vendors so
you can unlock these specializations before level 14.
- Modified game-side achievement system to allow adding new ones.
- Fixed a streaming problem that made props disappear. This no longer occurs.
Not a lot there as far as patches are concerned.
Here's to hoping any game update that comes bundled with Awakenings is actually a patch worth having.
I'll still get Awakenings regardless, as even with bugs this is the most enjoyable game I've played, but the lack of support is frustrating.

Here's the news that PS3 fans have been waiting for!
Return to Ostagar for the PlayStation 3 has passed certification and will be released on March 11, 2010.
We will also be releasing an update for the PlayStation 3 version of Dragon Age a week ahead of time on March 4, 2010. We'll release the contents of this update once we have the final list of changes.
We would also like to update you on the release date for Awakening. Dragon Age: Awakening will be released to retail in North America for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 16, as scheduled (with Europe/Other regions later that week as normal with retail releases). The PlayStation 3 DLC version of Awakening will be released on March 18.
We truly appreciate our PlayStation 3 fans' patience while they were awaiting this release. Thanks for playing Dragon Age: Origins, and we're looking forward to seeing you in Ostagar and Awakening!
This is great news for us PS3 players who love the game and have had the patience and understanding to wait.

I'm curious....Could someone please tell me what the point in paying for this DLC when the expansion is going to be released just 1 week later? I, like everyone else, have been waiting and waiting for RTO, but now the wait has been to long and the new "toy" is just around the corner.
Why? I'll tell you why.
I am a nerd. And that bastard Ogre killed Duncan (well, not directly but it was still largely responsible for the death). He's gotta get what's coming to him. And as soon as I plunge that things face into the floor and make him eat nug ****, I'm going to see what's left after the battle. Wearing Cailan's armor on my Human Noble that became Anora's consort will give me a tingling sensation, and Allistair needs some closure. FFS, we never buried the man. He was a hero to more than one of my characters.
Like BioWare says in their advertisement: the events at Ostagar haunt me. If it were Return to Any Other Place in the Game, I might not buy it.

I don't see what the big deal is. It's not like RTO is a major expansion that will eat up a bout 20 hours playtime. Most will likely finish it in an hour or two after getting it. I personally have not yet finished DA:O , and likely wont get Awakening until next month at the earliest, so I have plenty of time.Vikings_Fan_70 wrote...

I'm going to get this for one main reason. I was kinda dissappointed when I first played Origins that I couldn't get back into Ostagar to check out the aftermath of the battle. I was real happy when RTO was first announced, and despite all the delays, I am still stoked to play this.
