In addition to having a variety of unique things to say on recruitment missions and some loyalty missions, some squad members also have extra dialogue on certain quests and in hub areas like Omega or the Citadel.

When in a hub area, there will be an opportunity to elicit commentary from a squad member. If you have a specific 2nd squad member, they will insert themselves into the conversation. Here are the ones I've found.

Omega
-Jacob and Miranda, near the Quarian store.

The Citadel:
-Thane and Garrus, in the security scanners at C-Sec
- Garrus and Tali, triggered while walking on stairs between levels.

Illium:
- Jack and Samara, on the trading floor.

Tuchanka:
-Mordin and Grunt, in the first aid tent.
-Jacob and Grunt, in the fist aid tent.
-Tali and Grunt, near the shaman.
-Legion and Tali, at the rubble just below the clan leader.

Note that not every such instance has the potential for a 2nd person to chime in. For example, what Mordin and Legion say on the Citadel will not elicit squad banter no matter who you have with you. Also, this is not a comprehensive list.

In addition, having certain squad members with you during certain quests will get you unique dilogue.

Archangel Recruitment: Zaeed and Grunt - Zaeed will talk to the Blue Suns leader and his lieutenant, and Grunt will talk to the Blood Pack leader.

Dealing with Patriarch: I haven't done this myself, but Grunt is supposed to chime in when Aria discusses her defeat of Patriarch and his organisation.

Packages for Ish: Again, no personal experience, but having Jacob and/or Miranda with you when you first meet Ish will supposedly get extra comments. May be dependent on having Mass Effect Galaxy linked.

A Crime in Progress: If Tali is with you when you ask the volus his opinion, she will get into an argument with him. If you ask her to back down and Garrus is with you, he'll chime in briefly as well.

Indentured Service: Tali - Will have something to say if you convince the Synthetic insights rep.

Mordin's loyalty quest: Garrus and Samara -will have a few lines once inside the hospital. Garrus's are particularly funny.

Citadel customs: Not a quest, but if you ask about the new security arrangments with Tali, Zaeed, Garrus, or Jacob in the squad they will comment on them, and of course if Legion is with you you'll learn what geth do not intentionally do.

If you go to the presidium with Tali, she'll have commentary about it being near where they first met.

Also if you talk to Anderson with Legion in the group, he makes a reference to him. Refers to legion as "your trophy bot"

On Tuchanka, when asking the krogan scientist what he's working on with Mordin in the party. Have only tried with Wrex as clan leader.



Numerous instances on the Neema if Legion is with you during Tali's loyalty quest.

Tali has unique dialogue also in the hospital on the Mordin loyalty mission. She also chimes in when you pep-talk the sick krogan.

[Lothial]

If you take Garrus with you when you see Ashley/Kaiden. You'll get a little extra where they are talking about not being able to believe you are with Cerberus, "and Garrus too?!"



Garrus will tell them to look at the big picture.
