When starting the game, the orange sun/planet on the press any key screen has an enormous light bloom around it. This might not seem like much, but during the game, this same effect occurs around my characters (especially during cut scenes) giving them real blurry edges, almost like a slight glow about them. How do I fix this? I have turned on/off all the settings I can on the configure menu trying to figure out what controls that effect, but I can not get it to stop. It is not a mission critical issue, but it is very distracting and annoying when watching cutscenes and playing. Thanks.

Keeping in mind that turning this off also disables other effects, try disabling Depth of Field (DOF) by adding "DepthOfField=False" in your gamersettings.ini file located in your "My Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2\\BIOGame\\Config" directory (without the quotation marks). Just type it under the [SystemSettings] section.

I tried that and it seemed to work. But it did make everything look different. What I see going on is appears is that the lighting is bending around objects causing the edges to "glow". Every light I see on the Normandy has a blurriness to it. Not sure why this is happening. It was not present on my first play-through. Thanks for your comments. I might try reinstalling drivers and the game to see if that fixes things. Its like playing the game after you just wake up all the time.

Do you mean disabling Depth of Field worked but you didn't like the shadow changes/lack of background blur so you re-enabled it, or that it did nothing? I'm just trying to get clarification.

Could you take a shot of what it looks like in-game (like in the Normandy?)

Sorry. Disabling the DoF DOES fix the lighting issue, but makes everything look washed out. I have two pics to show what problem I am having. Look at the lights in these screen shots. Also notice how the lights are "bending" around my character. The lights have the effect similar to street lights on a foggy night. The flare/bloom/fuzz on my intro screen is massive in size.

EDIT: Found another possible solution.

Try the advice in the first post of this link: http://social.biowar...index/889432/40

You'll need to edit the coalescend.ini, for information on how to do that, check this link: http://social.biowar...06/index/834703
