Does anyone remember this guy on Tuchanka? He's a Krogan (obviously) who hangs out near the shaman. If Bioware is behaving similar to the first game then giving this guy a name means something. Has anyone done a sidequest for this guy, or do you think he will be the source of some DLC?

Might be DLC or simply some useful information and history. Bioware tends to put a lot of background into their creations. I mean i think the ambassador for the female clans might also be useful later on. Even if it is simply as a another quest later on.

Yeah, he's the envoy to the female clans. When I noticed that he had a name, I thought maybe he had a quest if you let Wrex die? I don't have a playthrough with Wreav.

No, not the ambassador, he's just called ambassador. Natorth is in the same alcove as the shaman. Could be the envoy for the female clans.

I'm aware I'm necroposting, but Natorth is a she, not a he, since there are no Krogan males in the female clans. (Duh!) Just pointing it out.

Do Krogan females complete the Right of Passage? Just wondering, cause Natorth mentions that he/she has delayed their taking it to act as the envoy to the female clans.

An envoy to the female clans is not the same as a member of the female clans.
As Wrex/Wreav says, you will NOT be seeing a female Krogan. I believe Wrex/Wreav even refers to Natorth as a he when talking of him.

Plus, look at the shape of the dead female Krogan under those covers in the hospital during Mordin's loyalty mission: they're much, much smaller than males, and rather slender too. Natorth looks like pretty much every other krogan you've seen.
This makes me think of Inamorda in ME1. Didn't a bunch of people think he was female too?
