good job on their designs BioWare. Both sexy and functional. If others were to design a sci-fi armor/suit for females, they would be subpar in sexiness and functionality compared to BioWare's designs

Rarely have I seen a game where much thought is put into the design of female armors while showing the aesthetics of the female body than that of Bioware's. Such designs give us males a pleasure to enjoy and appreciate them. Please keep up with such designs BioWare.

Personally, I have a platonic relationship to my femshep rather than a sexual one.

- Which is one of the clear markings of good characterization.

Other examples would be Dreamfall: The Longest Journey and Silent Hill 3; games in which the female protagonist isn't merely molded to cater to a bodice-starved male demographic, but actually penetrates the adolescent psyche and connects on a deeply emotional level.

I think the new N7 armor is very stylish and "protective" even compared to the best of ME1 armors. Overall I really like the direction BW took, however the DLC armors leave much to be desired... (I'm looking at you, permanently affixed helmet!)

I thought that this thread was going to be another rant about why Shep doesn't wear a space bikini. Here's to pleasant surprises.

Integrated kinetic barrier emitters in the bra.
You didn't think that was just for show, did you?

That is the best comic ever. Also, the Cerberus Armor makes FemShep look like a dude. N7 armor ftw!

The female armor in ME2 is very good. Bioware did a good job of making the armor both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Though, it should be noted that it's not quite what military armor would look like on a woman. Actually sculpting breasts into the chestpiece would be a waste of time and resources. With actual hard body armor, it would still be flat. Making room for the breasts would be accomplished by slightly smaller amounts of padding in the chest, and the woman binding her chest to some degree.  It's what most women in the military do now if they wear armor near constantly, according to a friend of mine that joined the Army right after she graduated.

The Cerberus armor has this dead on the money.  Were a real life military to deploy an advanced set of hardened assault armor like that, it'd be a pretty solid design all around, for both genders.

Militaries have neither the time nor the inclination to custom build armor to each body type. Now, for advanced commando units like N7, I could see a degree of individual customization, but still nowhere near what Shepard, or Specters in general, enjoy.

Still, the ME armors are very believable, which makes the game so much better. Battle bikini's annoy the **** out of me.

well the N7 armor yes; very well designed, functional and sexy looking, an impossible combination that bioware pulled off quite well.

how the same artists can do that yet settle on high heels, straps, and cleavage...ugh.

No, cerberus armor is just lazyness of the guy who made it and nothing else. You can`t blame the Mass Effec universe for that ugly armor. It`s the same with the inferno armor. They made one and that`s it. Lazy.

Yes, female armors look great in ME. Shaped like a human body, no unnecessary egdes.

I also think that female N7 armor from intro scene is less bulky than in ME1. Looks perfect.

BioWare also designed the female body realistically, not making exaggerated curves. Again, rarely have I seen much thought is put into female design. The usual design from others is often exaggerated curves. BioWare has deviated from this practice and made a realistic yet aesthetically pleasing female body.

Am I too hard to understand or is it a general dislike of topics such as these? After all, Mass Effect 2 caters to the male demographic. I expected more responses like Lord Coake's.

The armor designs aren't limited to Shepard's.  What if fan favorite Tali had a bulkier, unisexual armor? It won't look too appealing.

Sexiness aside - for me, there's just too much bulk (in ME2 female's armor).

You're playing an Adept (what's barrier for? LOL), and carrying that super heavy armor and also that huge grenade launcher on your back. No. :( Looks and feels totally wrong.

Here's hope ME3 will have more variety in that aspect. :)

Sorry, better to just create a newer thread rather than responding to threads that haven't had any comments in 8 months.
