Are these weapons at all different? They act and feel the same.

I think the grenade launcher deals more damage, but the missile launcher has the seek target thing. I tend to use the grenade launcher.

rocket is weaker, and homes in on targets, the other is fired in an arc and hurts more.

I am nearly 100% sure the grenade launcher also seeks.

Grenade launcher arcs toward target. Slight seeking. I find that the Rocket Launcher is better against aerial threats like Gunships, and Grenades for anything else.

the rocket launcher seeks much better than the gernade launcher. You can fire it around corners for instance.

The rocket launcher failed to hit my designated target nearly 100% of the time.

They both seem to hit fine...

Is there a damage/ammo capacity difference?

That is because it seeks out the enemy that is closest (guessing straight line distance) to you.  I usually use it against hordes when I don't care what I hit.

The Grenade Launcher is more realiable than the Missile Launcher. The only Heavy Weapon worth using other than the Grenade Launcher is the Cain, for those moments when you want to skip a fight (like the wave of Husks with a Scion in the suicide mission).

grenade launcher has a base damage/capacity/RoF of 500/10/100

missile launchers is 350/15/80

The grenade launcher also has a larger blast radius that allows it to easily take out several enemies at once, the rocket launcher can only do this if they are tightly packed.

fair enough, but can you shoot the grenade into the sky and have it find a random target? no? okay, then it doesn't seek, it just targets.

Nah I never performed such a silly test. But I guess the rockets do have tighter turn radii.

Well that damage/rof comparison was very helpful thank you. Looks like the GL is much more useful. Unless I really need seeking rockets for some reason. I suppose if I wasn't an Adept and couldn't dislodge some jerk from cover firing into the sky so they rain down on him would be viable.

lol, try looking in the opposite direction with the RL when hiding behind cover. basically you'll blind fire a rocket.

You can spam fire rockets and they will all pretty much hit someone. Maybe not what you're targeting. But it still has its purpose. I've found the rocket launcher to be pretty useful, though it certainly doesn't have the kick of some bigger weapons. You can also carry a pretty solid amount of ammo for it.
