Always add some to Cunning. Persuasion is a thing you'll need.

You only ever need to add one point to cunning, and only if you're not a human.

I'm typically an Elf.

uh you might want to stick some of them points further down in the play to willpower unless you want to keep chugging little blue bottles after 3 spells

Willpower is a worthless stat (for mages), it's much better to frontload your damage and drink a pot, than it is to throw out a bunch of weak spells over a longer period of time...and then drink a pot. Not to mention pots are limitless, so you effectively have an infinate mana pool.

Drink a pot?

Pot? as in a pot of beer? Oh glorious! can I be your mage?
(though I never did get Queensland's term for a glass of beer being a pot).
ok so potion yeah?
I found willpower a good thing to have but that's just me when I play my mages, it just depends how you want to play it. I usually take my spellpower to 40 and that fries enough baddies for me but I like a huge mana pool so I can just keep going nutz without halting

pots = potions, for those of you that didn't waste a year of your youth playing an MMO, and yeah he could put every single point into constitution so he never has to worry about healing too. I tend to assume if someone comes to the forum asking for build advice they are looking for the most effective way to do it though. As far as my own personal taste, I would (and sometimes do) argue that if you want any challange in the game not to use a mage at all. I guess gimping your spell power for no real gain (from a game mechanic view point) works too though.

Mages always get enough cunning (starting automatic allocation) that with the Fade bonuses, you'll be able to max coercion without putting anything in cunning. Really you just need lots and lots of magic, some willpower for more mana, and some constitution for general health and survivability, especially if you're going blood mage.

I got enough Cunning to max Coercion early on and more or less split everything else evenly between Magic and Willpower.

Being the fact that the last reply was over a year ago (365+ days) you may be a little late to assist in the convorsation.

Little Cunning to get what you want the rest in Magic, Arcane Warrior and superior dragonbone armor, spells Creation Haste chain, Elemental Ice and fire are great choices and hexes can save you in tough situations, i use this build and it's owns everything.
