My account is already linked to my EA Online account. I've already tried this once to change my name, and it didn't work. I still want to try before I register any promotional items with my Bioware Social site account. So, what I want to do is delete my account and reregister with the same e-mail address and EA Online account linked to it, but with a new name here. Do I have to wait a certain amount of time for the cache to clear or what?
Please and thanks.

This is not possible. You must either retain the e-mail address and create a new EA account or retain the EA account but with a different e-mail address. For the former, EA support is able to move user entitlements and PSN/Gamertag to the new account.

So, if I'm understanding you correctly, I can make a new EA Account and have them move my Gamertag and Promotional Content to that new account?
As you may have noticed, I already tried this song and dance again. I changed the e-mail on my current EA account and went about re-registering here, but it "automatically detected" this user name from my login information even after I had changed my e-mail address and verified it.

Correct. Several users have done so in the past.ivan.inverse wrote...

Precisely. That's why you must choose either e-mail address or EA account.ivan.inverse wrote...

Well, I've fired an e-mail away to EA support. Let's see how this goes.
