So there's already a Mordin thread, yes, but I figured Mordin needed an "Official" thread since the old one didn't seem to fit the bill of a "traditional" character support thread with links and everything. Here you'll find some of the ones I've come across in my internet travels, and there are plenty more to be had because we all know MORDIN IS MADE OF WIN.  So hop to it, my plucky friends: share your Mordin stuff here! Mordin is awesome.  Mordin is amazing.  Mordin is one of, if not the greatest character in the Mass Effect series and that is saying something since the universe is filled with wonderful characters overall. 

He's smart.  He's a fascinating, multi-layered character.  He's funny.  He's...well...

  All right, people:  Mordin is old, and we all know it.

 I am petrified that he's going to die of old age some time between ME2 and ME3. Petrified.  Like, keeps-me-up-at-night-epically-anxious petrified.  Pleeeease, Bioware, please.  Keep him alive and in the ME3.  

I don't even demand him as a squad member! (Although that would definitely be nice.  His battle chatter was awesome.)  He could just stay on the Normandy and have dialogue and I would be totally OK with that!  

Do you think that Mordin will be in ME3?  If so, to what extent?  Squadmate? Normal NPC?  Love Interest? (Hey now, I've heard it mentioned.)

No, "Hold the line" is one of Mordin's battle lines, and his dialogue in the suicide mission if he's chosen as the second fire-team leader says something about "Tell them I held the line"

Actually, the devs have said that his age on the ME2 site is not entirely accurate; he's only in his 30s, 50 is merely the human-equivalent. Likewise, Grunt is clearly not actually 22. Hell if I can find it right now, but it was somewhere on the forums, either these or the old ones...anyway, that means he's not quite as elderly as people usually think.

Mordin was a great character, that's what I don't get. He had so much depth, especially if you REALLY listened to him during his loyalty quest. He was quite clearly incredibly torn over his decisions and choices, even if logically (and I agree) they were in fact the right decisions.



He wasn't even brutal; not really. He wanted the best possible for each race, as long as they could maintain a peaceful existence.



Look at his reaction to the female Krogan on his loyalty mission. He's almost distraught! This is the guy who bio-engineered a device to prevent Krogan population expansion. He just wants peace, and seems to be one of the few who genuinely cares about people.



I also feel that his decision to keep coming back to personally remind himself why he does what he does takes a lot of guts.

Well, they have to leave Mordin in... Who else will you go to with alien-related, er... "intimacy issues" . I love Dr. Chakwas (always forget if it's k or ck and 1 s or two *sigh*), but she doesn't strike me as the type to send you diagrams and vids to help you out and Mordin can probably provide antibiotics regular doctor's haven't even heard of yet.. you know, the special Mordin brand kill-alls

Great character. Truly.

He's certainly one of my favorite video game characters of all time.  Similar to how Wrex was for me in ME1: Yeah, being funny is all well and good (both Mordin and Wrex have some of the funniest lines in their respective games.  And Wrex has some nice ones in this game as well.) but it's that extra layer that really draws me to both of them.  For Wrex, it was that frustrated idealism and genuine desire to help his people.

Mordin....Mordin's Loyalty Mission was my favorite in the game, and it was hard to beat out the fantastic ones like Tali's, Garrus's, and Legion's.  Learning that he had a crisis of faith, and that he tries to reconnect with his decisions to remind himself of what he's done...it kind of leaves me speechless every time I play through it.

I also really love that he isn't easily influenced by Shepard into believing that what he did was wrong.  He constantly defends his decision, and I love that about him.  In his heart, he knows that what he did was the best solution for everyone, and therefore the right one.

I don't get why Mordin doesn't have a big thread.
Pretty much everyone agrees that he's the best ME2 character, yet none of his threads stay on the front page for very long.
