Mordin is awesome. One of my favorites in ME2, hands down.

I am on another playthrough and I just realized again, how well written Mordin's loyalty quest is. I think, it is almost the best in the game (I liked Garrus' as well). Here you have a real moral dilemma. Normally the "choices" are no real choices for my Paragon Shep,. but with Mordin's quest she finds herself torn, because he does have a point. How far can you go in the name of the greater good?

Mordin is no TIM and he believes in "humanitarian" ideals (he would have never agreed to the experiments Cerberus performed on helpless civilians). His character and his choices are neither black nor white and that is what makes him a great character (oh, that and his singing talent, of course...)

A lot of people walk about Mordin retiring, but they're forgetting one crucial fact: Omega, a hive of scum and villainy, WAS his retirement. Curing plagues in a war zone is his idea of fun. That salarian is so badass, Zaeed's not fit to kiss his strangely gearlike boots.

I wouldn't mind if Mordin wasn't a squaddie in ME3, but only if it's a Wrex-style role where he's moved on to bigger and better things and still happily chats with you about your friendship and his new place in the world.

Also, from http://community.liv...ect/395463.html, Mordin's outfits/character model.

I never realized how filthy he was.

(I'll fix those links up tidy in a bit, forum is acting strange and only letting me use quick reply for some reason)

Mordin is awesome... He always surprises you! And he's quite a good combateer as well, he seems to have better AI than most squadmates, resulting in fewer stupid deaths :D

Oh man, I didn't notice that, either!

Embarrassing considering how well lit the Normandy SR-2 is.

I approve this message.

I linked this video: to my facebook to show people how I dance (which is horribly true..) though everyone liked the scenes with Mordin better. This thread needs some momentum!

The genophage (and by extension, Mordin) and the events surrounding it - The Rachni Wars, and then the Krogan rebellions - comprise the big grey 'moral conundrum' in the Mass Effect universe.

Recruiting the Krogan, then using the Genophage to pacify them, etc etc.

Putting a character like Mordin Solus into Mass Effect 2, and giving him the background that he has, intimately tied into the Genophage, and it's larger ethical dilemma was a HUGE risk for BioWare. The potential to screw it up, and make him a one-dimensional unrepentant super-scientist was massive.

But BioWare did it anyway, and they pulled it off. Mordin has the most facets of -any- squadmate, ME1 and 2 included. He is the most realistic, the most well-rounded and the most multi-dimensional character in the game. The writers did, quite honestly, a stellar job with his character. They tiptoed through the moral minefield of the Genophage with care,
discretion and respect, and out the other side comes Mordin Solus.

Mordin's loyalty quest is probably the best in the game - And I speak as a confirmed Talimancer.

don't know if this has already been said in here, but DID you know that Mordin's VA was actually in a televised production of Pirates of Penzance? So I guess he didn't have to practice for Mordin's singing solo after all. ;)

I don't see this thread on the front page often enough. Only 12 pages?! For shame.

Maybe if he hadn't been so quick to turn Shepard down.

I never noticed either.  But perhaps the idea is he was dirty and scruffy from working in the Omega Clinic?  And as we all know, loyalty is directly related to a squadmate's basic knowledge of personal hygiene and dressing oneself.
