Mordin gave me the sex talk and thought that my Maleshep was coming on to him. The funny bit is, he said that if he was interested, he wouldn't mind my MaleShep.

Mordin. Possibly homosexual. Must remember to investigate further.

I would say more like Bisexual. Mordin has the exact same dialogue with femshep. The thing is that convo is supposed to happen after a certain number of other convos, and he only talks about it in regards to your love interest if you've started romancing them before THIS convo. Otherwise he always assumes you're interested in him, which I find to be a funnier conversation, with him saying how akward it is and how he's not interested.

I tried alot of different squadmate combinations during my games and then I tried the Mordin & Miranda combo, WOW! These two are way too powerful together when fighting organics. I blasted through the suicide mission on insanity like I never had before (I was an adept). I mean it was so easy that I frankly consider having those two together as powergaming.

Miranda, 4 levels of warp (Takes care of barriers & armor).
Mordin, 4 levels of Incinerate (Takes care of armor & health).
Add the fact that my Adept had 4 levels of warp aswell. :)

I mean the Collector Harbinger takes control of never stood a chance, it always took me only a few seconds to take him down.

Try taking them in the Collector ship.  In all the squads Ive had with me in that mission, these 2 had the most dialogue.  And yes, they rock as a combo.

Seems like people in this thread have simply done the job and gone home. Implications unpleasant. :/

This post is in danger of falling by the wayside when Mordin fans should rejoice in the Scientist Salarian song in its entirety.

I am the very model of a scientist Salarian... I've studied species turian, asari and batarian. I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology) Because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology)

I'm also quite familiar, too, with matters dealing medicine. I'll diagnose and treat the galaxy's most sickly Quarian. I've cured most deadly plagues that brought populations to their knees... ....to their knees...bees, sees, fees...Got it! And I've learned to greatly limit the average amount of fertile Krogan seeds!

And he's learned to greatly limit the average amount of fertile Krogan seeds! And he's learned to greatly limit the average amount of fertile Krogan seeds! And he's learned to greatly limit the average amount of fertile Krogan seeds!

My xenosience studies range from urban to agrarian, Tuchanka, Illium, Omega, and those far more alien. In short in matters turian, asari, and batarian. I'm the very model of a scientist salarian.

In short in matters turian, asari, and batarian. He's the very model of a scientist salarian

I know numerous details of several species' chemistry. From elcor to the volus, from evolution to anatomy. Krogan reproduction, and the dextro-amino acid strains. Of which turians and quarians from their cells and organs bones and veins.

Humans are unique with their wide array of gene diversity. My research of Collector technology shook society. About beings' reaction to stress my knowledge remains precise. Those seeking support in intercourse, I can offer my advise.

Those seeking support in intercourse, he can offer his advise.

Those seeking support in intercourse, he can offer his advise.

Those seeking support in intercourse, he can offer his ad-his advise.

This wast supply of knowledge covers every living sapient. My brilliant hardened mind is virtually omniscient. In short in maters turian asari and batarian, I'm the very model of a scientist salarian

In short in maters turian asari and batarian, He's the very model of a scientist salarian

Beyond scientific expertise, I've also skills in combat. Killed people once with farm equipment, many other violent acts. One probably wouldn't tell from exterior appearance. In fact I'm quite familiar in subjects involving ordnance.

Though I've no trouble eliminating those I see as dangerous. I can't deny things I do are considered to be heartless. Ethics and morals in the past have proven somewhat conflicted...... conflicted, that's tricky...how about... But know it's for learning, growth, not death, for which I am addicted!

But know it's for learning, growth, not death, for which he is addicted!

But know it's for learning, growth, not death, for which he is addicted!

But know it's for learning, growth, not death, for which he is addict-addicted!

With my military past, I'll put a bullet in your head with ease. I've disposed of ruffians almost as frequently as disease. But still in matters turian asari and batarian I'm the very model of a scientist salarian

But still in matters turian asari and batarian He's the very modle of a scientist salarian

Does anyone here perfer the paragon or renegade approach to his loyalty mission?

I feel the paragon one gets better lines from Mordin, while the renegade one is pretty quick and there is no real confrontation to it.

Regarding the screen cap above, is that a ME field on his head? If so, that would be one of the helmets that make sense in space!

The renegade approach seems to suit Mordin's style. Take the Batarians who had his assistant at gunpoint on Omega. Would have killed them if he had the chance. Unlike Miranda who had a soft spot for Niket, I think the moment Maelon crossed the line on his experiments, he was as good as dead in Mordin's eyes.

The only reason I take the paragon approach is if I want to hear the extra dialogue or my Shepard is taking the heavy-handed paragon sentiment a little far where no one gets to revel in their renegadeness so long as Shepard is around.

I hope he's at least a cameo character in ME3 if he survives the suicide mission, or remains a crew member like Kelly or Joker. Considering the story arc of ME2, and the fact that it's designed to be a suicide mission, I think he will be sidelined or replaced with another salarian (a la Wrex/Wreav) in ME3 if there is no file import or if he dies.

Would be a shame if he's not in ME3. The character development is what made ME2 better in my book, and Mordin was one of my favourites as soon as I walked into his clinic.

Because the list of potential squadmates is huge from ME3 (and this is assuming the don't throw in even more possible recruitments), I've thought about switching Mordin from a squadmate to a support role. Running the research lab sounds like a perfect role for him, and they certainly demonstrated in ME2 that you can still get some great conversation with Mordin even outside of missions.

I've been leaning toward squadmates playing liason roles in ME3, using their connections to draw more support to Shepard as they prepare to face the Reapers. Mordin is the perfect liason for the salarians, especially since he was STG.

I would prefer ME2 squad mates remaining squad mates. Many of them do not really have any political leverage (or potential as liasons) whatsoever anyway. However, Mordin is one squad mate I'd not mind so much if he's not a squad mate, if he ends up just being a scientist on the Normandy instead. Much of his dialog is about his scientific pursuits rather than fighting, after all.

Of the squadmates that I think do have considerable political or military leverage, I'd say Mordin, Samara, Kaidan/Ashley, Wrex, Tali, and possibly Thane. Mordin has the STG, Samara is a Justicar (who apparently trumps a politician in matters of justice), Kaidan/Ashley is already working with the Alliance on infiltration operations, Wrex is already a political force, and Tali is being considered for the Admiralty. I throw in Thane because he has such close connections with the Hanar, and I can only assume that an assassin trained by the Hanar was specifically working for the political higher-ups.

Yes, I've even speculated on what type of farming equipment and how he used it. But I don't think anyone needs to think about what tilling blades can do.

I doubt the thread will reach almost 10,000 pages like Tali's fan thread, but let's get more support for Mordin! Awesome character.

This is a good point.  Perhaps the reason we had to build such a huge huge team in ME2: Shepard needed their political power as well as their manpower.
