Was it just me who found it annoying during Mordins loyalty mission that you basically had to complain at him all the time? I mean, it was like Bioware was forcing you to hate the much-needed Genophage. Shame really.

Mordin's character is definitely one of the best written I've come across in gaming and surprisingly good at making you think as a player about the ethics of his past decisions, to the point you can almost forget you're playing a game - cracking bit of work from whoever was behind him.

Would love to see him make a return in ME3.

Wait, you found yourself thinking about his ethics? All I saw was a man who did exactly what was needed.

More thinking about them seriously and weighing the cost against the character of the character, opposed to just a random bit of game dialogue thrown in for character flavour; getting emotionally and intellectually involved with the game and story on an unexpected level.

Does that make more sense?

Mordin is a wonderfully deep character. Not only because of what he does, in that sense he is probably seen as a Renegade as per ME2 alignment system, but he doesn't just shrug his shoulders and move on. Maleon couldn't move on; Mordin did to an extent even with the Salarian rate of dealing with emotions.

In that although he felt justified in doing what he did, and he genuinely believed it as it seems he left no stone unturned for the research, he still felt some form of guilt. Mordin would actually fit in nicely into the role of an agent who caused bad consequences but in an indirect way (the very notion of what the philosopher Bernard Williams called agent-regret).

Fascinating character should one want to discuss him.

I HATE the paragon dialogue in Mordin's loyalty mission. Mordin is pretty much giving logical justification for what he did, and then Shep is just like "Yeah, well...you're wrong!" It makes Shepard seem dumb or naiive.

Shepard's dialogue is probably the worst in the game, especially here.

Mordin is very stubborn.
But there may be implications in ME3 depending on how you talk to mordin (if you keep saying he's wrong/right and if you keep the data)

Yes...Mordin doesn't think that it will help to cure the genophage, in fact he is sure that it will only worsen the Krogan's situation. However if you kept the data and tried to convince him otherwise, then perhaps there will be an opportunity to cure it in ME3.

As long as I have a choice to not cure it, I'm fine.

Didn't see this posted here so here's an interview with Mordin's VA, Michael Beattie. Well, interview is a somewhat misleading term since there's no interviewer, he's answering questions from fans. Anyway...

This. Shepard comes off way too preachy in my opinion. However, it gives us a chance to see Mordin's greatness. It's a credit to Dr. Solus that when someone starts denigrating his life's work, he puts up with it, calmly explains his point of view, and never loses his cool.

Currently playing through ME2 on insanity and it transpires to me that Mordin is a must have squad member in most key missions. I don't think I could have done the Collector ship without him. Intelligent and kicks a lot of behind.

Who do u bring as well... i usually bring samara, thane or miranda because of their warp ability (Although samara has reave, which is similar)

Dude, pick the renegade responses; you help assure him what he did was necessary.

My current favourite pairing is Thane with Mordin; because I'm playing through as an adept Shepard I have two characters with warp. Tried using a three biotics group but I really don't last long. Mordin's incineration makes fighting Collectors a lot easier. Also using the same group on/in the derelict Reaper mission. Works like a charm.

Would be interesting to see if the decision to keep Maleon's data with Mordin living through the suicide mission have an impact on ME3. Though there are other choices I'd like to see effect ME3.

Im sure saving wrex in ME1 will also impact this:
Since he is uniting the clans, the other urdot leader (if wrex is killed) i can't remember what he was doing... and im sure it isnt something useful.
Sparing mordin's student may also have an impact - though if Kirrahe survived i wonder what he would say (other then "HOLD THE LINE!")

"Hold the line!" Now in stereo if you have Kirrahe and Mordin together.

Another interveiw with Michael Beattie. I never looked at his IMDB profile, but apparently he is undercredited by 179 episodes of various shows, altough he is overcredited for his number of appearances on Care Bears.

I enjoyed the part where he makes a case for Mordin in ME3:
"I would have Mordin be a major part of Mass Effect 3. More fun. More anticipation. More nostalgia. Better story. More sales!"
When I was reading those short sentences, I started hearing Mordin's voice in my head.

My sole bone of contention with Mordin's LM is that Shepard comes off as an anti-Genophage strawman if you go the Paragon route. Really kind of painful to listen to, because it only reminds me of so many arguments I've had with people on more... delicate matters. It's like Shepard is plugging his/her ears and going "LALALALALALA I CAN'T HEEEEEEAR YOU~!". =V

That said, I like how Mordin doesn't cow to the player on the subject.
