that's actually marginally creepy... you can almost hear Shep saying, in a low creepy voice, "Hello Mordin. I've been watching you..."

Edit: Or perhaps it would be more like "ASSUMING CONTROL."

So here's when Mordin really "clicked" for me.

Oddly, for me it was during Mordin's acquisition mission - when he tells Daniel, his assistant, that there are lots of ways to help people. He cites cures (for those in need) first, and then he cites killing (dangerous people) second, and I was like "Wow, the put a heck of a lot of ramifications into a couple of short sentences". Eventually I'd come to appreciate that this was how everything Mordin says would be. Layers and consequences and more layers and consequences.

The moment Mordin 'clicked' for me was right when I met him. I was playing with my friend watching and the moment I encountered him, I fell in love with his speech patterns. I remember saying "I like this guy" after the conversation ended. My friend is... less good at English, so she stared at me like I was insane, 'cause she hadn't understood a word he said. :P (the very small subtitles didn't help)

The moment where I knew that he was my favorite character happened during the conversations about the genophage. Damn... just... just... DAMN. I usually don't comment on this stuff, but that was some damn good writing and voice acting.

Ma'am...however it doesn't have the same ring to it as sir, now does it?:P Woe.

Actually, I was worried when I first met Mordin that his speech would eventually get tiresome.  For the first two sentences I wished there was a renegade interrupt that would let me walk up, slap him across the face and yell "PRONOUNS, MAN!"  Then the camera started doing that thing where it zooms in on his eyes  when he narrows them.  I laughed so hard I nearly peed, and all was forgiven.

ah yes, the old Mordin squinty face...

It reminds me of really old mystery shows/movies where the detective is talking on and on about who it could be and who it isn't etc. and then suddenly you get dramatic music and the ultra zoom on the face with the squinted "I know you did it" eyes and then...: "It was... the butler!" *fanfare and everyone else gasping in fake astonishment*

I wish to boost this thread in all its Mordin glory, so...

What was everyone's favourite "Mordin Moment?" Haha.

For me, it absolutely has to be, as I think I mentioned before, his distraught rection upon seeing that female Krogan a la recruitment mission. It really showed me just how well written he was.

Before I simply had him down as "does whatever necessary doctor," but it was then that I realised that he wasn't just your typical, one-way character, like Grunt (KILLKILLKILL), but possibly the most multi-layered character in the entire game.

So thoughts then?

I know, choosing is virtually impossible!

*sigh* Well, as I can't seem to pick a favorite, I'll just go with one of the many I liked... Asking him about the lab and getting the run down of monitoring devices.. "gave expensive one back to operative lawson" I stared at the screen for a long moment and thought "Really, you don't strike me as the thrifty kind" :P

That's too hard.  I won't lie though, his sex pep-talk with me about Garrus was probably the closest I can get to a favorite. No matter how many times I watch it, it never gets old.

Somehow on my first playthrough I managed to miss the dialogue option about Mordin's crisis of faith, so my second time through that really shook me.  That moment makes it pretty high up there.

...I also really loved it when he called Kirrahe a "cloaca"^_^ and when he said that line on his loyalty mission about the different ways he's killed people, and drops farming equipment.  One of the best things about Mordin's lines is that he goes so fast and has a lot of moments where you're listening, nod nod nod,  and then he'll say something like that and it'll be "Wait....what did you just say?"
