Mordin is definitely my favorite ME2 character. I started the game wanting to try out one of the romances (because typically, I am a sucker for romance) but found them lacking. The friendship with Mordin was much more satisfying. He is complex, funny, smart, and fun to listen to. My husband saw me always bringing him along and me talking about him all the time and used his art skills to make me a button. It just arrived today (a little larger than I expected) but is pretty sweet.

Being a psychologist and supposedly all professional, ;-) I can't put it on something I take to work, but I'll find some way to use it.

Mordin is one of the funniest/complex characters to ever grace video games. I support his return!

Here's a rarity you don't often see more of:

Mordin's Loyalty Mission offer.

He sounds so anxious. >=

I played Mordin's Loyalty mission last night. It still hasn't lost its emotional impact; I got my usual epic D: face when he talks about religion and how much more he has to offer.  Had to stop and make myself some sugar cookies, then eat my way out of depression.

Came across another quote that I hadn't run past before, by telling him he did the right thing (usually don't take the "renegade" options during that dead krogan conversation, my Shepards really like the krogan race) that broke my heart:

Shepard:  It's hard to see this, Mordin, but you did the right thing. Your work saved lives.
Mordin: Not easy.  Sometimes wish I wasn't as intelligent.  Choice would've fallen on someone else.  Not my problem....fool's wish, had to be me.  Others might have gotten it wrong.

...poor Mordin.:crying:

Mordin's loyalty mission is the one with the most emotional impact for me. Perhaps the only one with a real emotional impact. I felt bad when playing a Paragon and picking Paragon answers, because they sounded so harsh.

Gotta respect someone that calls Kirrahe a cloaca.

Indeed.  Using cloaca as an insult in general=win.

Yeah, I replayed Mordin's loyalty mission a day or so ago and it still gets me. I really went all-out with the Paragon options, which made for a good debate but at the same time, I kinda had a "better' understanding of the Genophage than I did before. I wasn't aware it was supposed to alter fertility (at least, Mordin's redo of it anyways) and not outright sterilize them.

I could go into a long tirade about how Mordin really DID kill people with medicine (need I mention the Clan Weyrloc speaker mentioning the bit about holding "dead (unborn) children" in their arms?) but it's such a grey area. Like what Garrus says in his loyalty mission: "It's so easy to see things in black and white. Grey is much harder" (or something to that extent).

But I couldn't let Mordin kill Maelon. It's like with Garrus and Sidonis: you allow them to kill and they become just like the one they're trying to kill themselves.

Fascinating stuff. Makes me adore Mordin more and more. <3

You know, I really love Mordin's loyalty mission. It's a shame more people don't talk about it. I appreciate that the paragon interrupt opportunity is especially long for his mission because I actually had a hard time deciding whether or not to stop him.

...I did, obviously.

Anyway.

Next time I have free time, I'mma make an AdiveMordin sig like my lame Garrus one. Probably will replace that Zaeed quote.
Any requests?

You know, I occasionally see threads about Mordin's Loyalty mission or ethics of the genophage, they just don't talk about it here. *shrug*

Also, AdviceMordin sig.  WOULD BE AWESOME.

It also provides a disturbingly hilarious mental image of Mordin on a tractor. Again I curse my lack of artistic ability.

Awesomesauce links!

Oh, did we ever find a confirmation by a BioWare 'blue' that Mordin is not really 50, but is merely the approximate equivalent?

Thank you! =] It took me FOREVER to come up with a decent MaleShep and he benefitted the most from the graphical changes made to ME2. I'm almost jealous on behalf of my FemShep and her pinocchio nose!

Mordin's his #1 bro. =]
