So, I found it to be a great compliment to my Engineer.

More then AI Hack :)  Which I found useless & respec'd out of.

How are ya'll doing yours?

I was 4 points into Drone, Overload, Incinerate, Passive & Dominate.

I pick AP ammo for all 6 classes. It's the best choice.

.

It's the First Mass Effect 2 Law.

.

Now thinking about dominate, don't you suffer with the cooldown?

Not really, If your facing fleshies, there always someone without Armor/Shields, just health. Since I picked A.R. Training, I'll run in, Dominate, dive for cover, with Global Recharge of the Passive, I can then start Overloading or Incinerating Shields/Armor of other folks while now I have a 4th Person with their own Barrier on, helping out.

I find it very very useful, once they kill that guy off, someone else armor/shields are gone, I dominate them.

Plus I chuck a drone here & there for more C.C. & Distraction from me.  Hell at once point do to speed of things, I had like 2 guys dominated firing back & forth at each other, I just stood there laughed, watching that(mind you Garrus & Thane(or I use Zaeed a bunch too) usually pot shotting at em too.

I'm definitely planning on giving it a try once I get it unlocked - which I unfortunately didn't during my first play through.

So far I've been trying out several different bonus powers on my engineer - AP ammo, warp ammo, reave, fortification - but since I'm sort of planning on bringing Grunt along most of the time with squad incendiary ammo, I fortunately don't feel as forced to opt for an ammo power as I otherwise would.

10 Heavy Incinerate
10 Heavy Overload
10 Full Cryo Blast
10 Attack Drone
10 Demolisher
1 Geth Shield Boost

I found the bonus talents largely unecessary as long as you make good use of cryo for damage boost and control so I took 1 point in shield boost for retreating purposes

Dominate is really cool and would work really well but I have a roleplay issue on it :(  seeing how it is a biotic ability.  If it doesn't bother you its awesome.

Im planning to do that except only 1 in cryo, i think thats all that is needed.
Each Cryo level only increases the duration and i find it hard at times to kill all the frozen enemies. Not to mention you need to strip their defences first. I think its a little situational to commit 10 points when 1 works just as well.

Instead ill take 10 warp ammo. I could take AP ammo, but i always preferred warp :D

Yeah, I went dominate with my engineer as well, it was a loads of fun. I respec'd a few times, max overload/AI hack for the Geth missions, removed AI Hack and max dominate for suicide mission etc, but i intended to go with the following. a good mix of tech attack powers and crowd control.

overload 6

heavy incinerate 10

Cryo Blast 1

Explosive Drone 10

Demolisher 10

AI Hack 6

Dominate 6

Evolved Cryo is very nice. I run a lot of different Engineer builds but my "generic" build looks like this:

Area Overload: 4

Incineration Blast: 4

Explosive Drone: 4

Cryo Blast: 3

AI Hacking:2

Machinist: 4

Warp Ammo: 1

But I almost never really use that build. I take that template and work it into a more fun and challenging build.

I find that the Engineer is most enjoyable when you make it specialized.

With such a diverse skill set that accounts for just about everything save barriers, you can create so many different builds, each creating a fun amount of sub-gameplay stemming from the spectacular base enjoyment of the class itself.

So I tend to run builds like:

Overload: 1

Incinerate: 0

Attack Drone: 4

Full Cryo Blast: 4

Improved AI Hacking: 4

Machinist: 4

Area Dominate: 4

or

Heavy Overload: 4

Incineration Blast: 4

Drone: 2

Cryo Blast: 2

AI Hacking: 2

Damage Passive (Demolisher?): 4

Area Neural Shock: 4

With an Engineer I suggest respec'ing before each mission if you can afford the eezo. It really spices up the gameplay

Full Cryo increases radius and I don't always care if I kill all the frozen enemies so long as they aren't shooting and they fall close enough to refreeze.  Warp ammo is nice though however I'm the type of person that it irks me to have an ability that doesn't make sense on my class.  I can justify disrupter ammo but it isn't a bonus skill and would be pretty useless to an engineer.  Because of this I tend to find ways to maximize the effectiveness of having one point in an ability.

I had neural shock for a bit due to instant shock to a krogan but settled on GSB since it let me run away safetly from more than just krogans.

Dominate is incredibly fun. I haven't really experimented it yet on my Engineer, but I brought Morinth with me on a lot of missions once I got her. I do intend on playing a build on my third Engineer playthrough that emphasizes the Engineer's power of control and I will be picking Dominate as my bonus ability.

make sure you bring a teammate with warp to explode all the people you've dominated.
