ok, first playthrough was with soldier, in normal mode and i wasn't after renegade or paragon advancement.
second play through was with infiltrator,on casual going after paragon advancement.

i'm using my soldier again, this time on insanity, and i'm trying to be a renegade,  just to see how cool a red headed shepard hell-cat can get. does anyone remember the debbie boone song, dont a make my brown eyes blue? i''ve got a new one; don't a make my green eyes red. She looks bad to the bone now that her eyes have started glowing.

ok, seriously, i'm getting my butt kicked on the insanity level though. i'm actually starting to dread each recruitment.

will my renegade score go higher if i skip the loyalty missions and don't buy (ship)upgrades and let everyone die, or will i gain more renegade points (through dialog opportunities) if i complete the loyalty  missions?  avoiding paragon points seems impossible , no matter what i do.  although my main goal is just completing the game as quick as possible. as i said insanity is tough.maybe not for some of you, but i'm pulling my hair out.

You can still do the loyalty missions and get renegade without getting much, if any, paragon.

Even if you reply "If there's time" when your squadmates ask for help you can still do the loyalty missions, whilst gaining Renegade points. Most of the loyalty missions have a choice at the end of them that will boost your Renegade score dramatically.

Oh, and it is not wise to skip the loyalty missions entirely... if you're planning on living past the end mission...

Insanity is wicked rough. As a small suggestion: take either barrier or fortification, max it to improved (180 sec. of +75% shields) and try to return to cover between firing before your shields blow out completely. Also, but not quite as important, reserve concussive shot for barriered enemies only, if there are any.

Back on topic, Gitty's right. If you don't do the loyalty missions, best case scenario will be Shepard: Last Man Standing.

finally made it, thanks every one for the tips. in the end, i found the assassin cloak and lots of medi-gel worked best for me.
