It links to a thread at another forum where Gibbed is discussing with a few others how to mod the 360 version. So far, though, it doesn't seem like anyone here has tested it.

It is NOT illegal. It requires absolutely no modifications. All you need is a HDD transfer cable and copies of Xport 360, Modio and Gibbed/Xanderchaos' editor. I don't believe the coalesced.ini type editing is possible, although it may be if someone were to open up the .bin files that are created when installing a game to HDD.

Actually, with the new USB drive memory feature, you can just move your ME2 save over to the USB drive and open it on your computer with Xtaf USB Explorer, Modio, and the editor.wierzbowski88 wrote...
I have successfully used the modified Gibbed save editor on my 360 to change my ME1 decisions for different playthroughs as well as using the head morph import feature to correct an oddity in my Shep's face. It's fantastic and has really extended the replayability of ME2, like playing as a male with my femsheps ME1 decisions.

Is this true, has anyone tested this? I would be most interested if it works

I've done it via USB. Works great. Gave myself all the Collector ship weapons and Tali and Legion just after recruiting Garrus.
Mind posting a small guide?

I haven't done it with a USB yet but I use the 360 version of Gibbed's to mod my 360 ME2 saves nearly every day and I guarantee you that it works.

Actually, modifying is frowned upon because of the invasive and brutal methods being the only option on the console, however, the usb drive proves to make everyone happy, microsoft will not have to worry about people cheating on matchmaking, and people have an easier way to use basic mods.
As long as you do not mod your 360's hardware/software, achievements/gamerscore or a multiplayer game you should be OK. All you really mod with Gibbed's are values stored in your saves for a single player game......values nobody but you sees in the game itself. Microsoft doesn't care what you do in single player games as long as you're not giving yourself achievements or modding the 360 itself. In all likelyhood they cannot even detect the changes in values made to an individual save......like your minerals, hairstyle, weapons and so on.

Yeah, basically, basic mods like saves are ok. Multiplayer mods are not(although, it's not possible to make a rapid-fire mod using a flash-drive or could take time no one cares to devote).Darth_Trethon wrote...

It's great that their actually listening in to their fans for features, the option to add in flash drives was not by microsoft, someone asked it over on the forums.
Thank him

stop buying video game consoles that are 4 years behind modern computers
stop making video game consoles that are 4 years behind modern computers (it only holds back the video game industry as awhole)
stop complaining because you purchased an obsolete piece of crap
buy a computer and play the game the way they were designed (on a computer)
the end
The 360 can handle games that on PC ONLY the newest and most expensive hardware can handle five years after its relese.....sometimes it handles more than current PCs can.
Example: in the year 2008 the game Star Wars The Force Unleashed(TFU) came out on the 360 and PS3 with watered down crap versions for the Wii, DS, PSP and PS2 but NOT on the PC. At this point the PC community was in a rage and LucasArts explained that they didn not want to release a poor version of the game on PC and that the version equivalent to the next gen consoles would require a high end $4000 PC. Obviously all the cloud heads like you called them liars and all that because after all how could $200 obsolete hardware handle more than their PCs.
Well TFU DID end up on the PC about a year later and not only did it require insanely high system specs but it still couldn't run as well as the 360 or PS3. It's sad to see people like you who are tools of the PC industry which sells you slightly better hardware every couple of months and in the end it still can't keep up with a 4 year old true gaming machine.
Oh and Gibbed's DOES have a 360 version and it works just as well as it does for the PC.

Could you post a small guide or something to that effect? Or perhaps could you do some playing around with the USB stuff, and let me know if it's possible? After 8 ME2 playthroughs, It would be nice to not have to mine for minerals and to get extra colors for Armor Customization

Allright but it will take some time. The order in which to do things is very speciffic. I'll try to have one done in the next few hours.

Perhaps full modding won't be achieved, but a save editor makes me more than happy.

Quick question. If this works, would doing so violate XBL terms and service?
No, save editing doesn't violate the Tos, modding microsoft hardware and multiplayer stuff however, is.

Same here, because I've tried this already: I plugged in my USB drive to the XBOX then moved the Mass Effect 2 saves into my USB drive, BUT all that's in the USB are ".data" files, no .xboxsav or whatever it is files that is needed in order for Modio/similar programs to recognize the files so that I can edit them.
Am I doing something wrong here? Is there a certain type of USB drive I should purchase? Did I move the files wrong.
Also, there are two places in the XBOX with ME2 data: Mass Effect Saves and Mass Effect Importer something, so I should edit the files under Mass Effect Saves, right?

How do you copy/find your xbox save files? With the Memory Storage menu, I can find individual saves, but it gives me an error message when I try to copy them to the Memory stick saying that That Item cannot be transfered.
