That's where I am now on my first run-through.  Without giving away too much of the future, can someone tell me who I should be bringing with me?  I am a common dwarf rogue backstabber, and I have been having trouble surviving bandits with the group so far.  I'm convinced the storyline wants me to keep Alistair and Morrigan for a while.  I would pick Leliana over Dog.  Should I pick Sten over Leliana for now to help my party's damage output and survivability?  Or does Leliana have more tricks up her sleeve than I have seen so far?

Some people find that they can enjoy a story more if they suspend disbelief and allow themselves to have an emotional response to the characters. You should try it sometime. I find killing characters like Howe to be a lot more entertaining if I let myself hate them a little.

No i know that. I'm just saying that i like every character thats not my enemy. And thank you very much but i do read alot and i can put myself in a characters place very easily but thats not what i'm talking about. I mean i could easily see my self as joker or even Jack if i wanted to be a girl with all that PMS stuff but thats another story lol.

I love how some of you talk about these characters like they're real people. lol

And people analyze characters in books, too.  I know it being a game automatically makes you think anyone with any kind of attachment or strong opinion to a character makes them weird, but this is what is done with every outlet for storytelling.  Whether it be books, movies, plays, or even video games...people enjoy discussing the complexities of the characters in that work.

I may or may not be the only person who thinks this, but I'd have to say that Sten is my favorite character. He's the most complex out of the party imo, and I always looked forward to learning more about him -- though, it's clear to me how many can see him has a total ******.

Why would a grey warden save Sten, well its pretty obvious to me. When you first talk to Sten, assuming you follow the right dialogue options, you can tell that he has remorse for what he has done and allowed himself to be caught. There also is the fact that that cell probably is no match for his strength, i mean he freakin tackles a dragon in the Sacred ashes trailer, your little metal cage is nothing.

For any grey warden that sides with good, this is a clear sign he regrets what hes done and is looking for atonement.
Plus you need some extra help fighting the darkspawn, and he seems happy to fight em.

For any neutral grey warden, he's obviously strong, a capable warrior, and has a sense of honor that will stop him from killing you in your sleep. And even if he didn't Allistar and your dog aren't going to just let him shank you for fun.

For any grey warden that sides with evil, he's a muscle bound giant that murdered an entire family with his bare hands in a fit of rage. (BOO-YAH!)

Overall he comes from a warrior culture, he is strong and stoic, and  loves small fuzzy critters and cookies. What more do you want?
