Hello everybody!

The current users active in modding Mass Effect 2 textures have created a group. We have done this so that others may find all the available texture mods completed to date by simply clicking on the profiles of members or  viewing "Projects" for the group tab.

You will find the necessary program to run these mods and instructions on how to use texmod in my own projects (BiancoAngelo7) by clicking on my profile. (its easy! give it a look! :D)

Group link: social.bioware.com/group/1547/

If you would like to join this group there are three simple requirements:

1) You must have completed at least one texture mod for Mass Effect 2.

2) You must have made it available for download through your "Projects" in your profile.

3) You must not be mean to others. :D (seriously)

If you would like info on getting started and how to make texture mods Youtube search: "How to use Texmod"

Recap: Open our group,either click on a member's profile or on the Projects tab for the gorup page. Click on "Projects" browse and enjoy all available texture mods. (after downloading texmod and reading instructions)

Is there any chance we could get a sticky link to the group so everyone who wants to find texture mods in one place can do so?

We have an important update for anyone looking for texture mods. On our group page we have just started uploading all the projects that we have completed so far. This makes it even easier than before. All you need to do is click on the "Projects" tab and you can see all the available mods we have made.

@javier

Im sry bud...I really wish there was a way we could get these out to you and our other 360 brethren... :(

The only way would probably be for Bioware to incorporate some of these mods into some kind of patch...but I suppose they would have to come up with some kind of selection tab/window for what people would want to activate...either that or just include the ones that are fixes like the one I did making the Normandy have smooth clean windows when docked.

...not to mention it would be hella cool to have Bioware's official stamp of approval on some of our mods...that would place me in heaven =]

Simple things like more casual clothing choices and colors, and hair and other facial mods, I'm surprised those haven't been incorporated in yet. I die a little when I see someone's Shepard wearing the Elusive man's suit

I actually prefer the brown one for this. It feels Cerberus-y for some reason, whilst still "military". :police:

Indeed, I don't miss buying a new graphics card every other week; but I sure do miss the mods.  The black weapon skins sound particularly nice.  I miss my stylish black SPECTRE gear from ME1.

@implodinggoat

Im not saying this to start yet another pc/360 war on these forums, as I like both systems and think each has its strong and weak points.

But I just wanted to say that I personally bought my pc 5 years ago, and only 2 months ago did I need to upgrade my graphics card. It cost me 170 euro.

I have always played everything on the highest settings, including "crysis" level games. Im just saying, that the need to continually buy graphics cards has been greatly exaggerated by people trying to illogically state that the PC is rubbish, making normal people think that buying a PC means you have to buy a graphics card every full moon lol.

For me, it has never been a "war" so to speak, I use PC for many things, and when it comes to gaming, I have to spend about or less than 200 euros every FIVE years to keep playing games at the highest settings?...Sounds good to me. You should look into it, you might be pleasantly surprised! :)

Again, not saying 360 sucks, I think its good too, each platform has its ups and downs. :)

I've a Geforce 9600GT graphics card that cost me 150 euros back in it's day, and I've never had any FPS issues with any game by now...

I'm not planning to update it any sooner, too.

Included in the original post is a link to the projects. There it says that if you look at the "Texmod" project the necessary program and all the instructions on how to use it are included. ;)

<SNIP>

This is similar to what I did.  Single core Athlon 64 3200 purchased so many years ago.  All I did since then was buy a new Nvidia GTX260 Core 216 last year, and I can run Mass Effect 2/BioShock 2/Dragon Age with all gfx settings maxed.  GTX260 cost me $150 new from Amazon.com... cheaper than the $180 I paid for the 6600GT all that time ago (the same 6600GT I used to play ME1 for PC, incidentally). True, I had to use the BIK movie workaround for ME2 since that problem is not surmountable without patching otherwise, and my audio card has it's own CPU so that it doesn't rob the main CPU of processing power and it also helps that I do not load my machine down with an oil-frieghter's weight in silly resident programs like registry cleaners, weather apps, printer "helper-ware", or 27 different instant messenger programs. The point here is that PC gaming is not as costly as some make it out to be.

Besides, you need a computer to create game modifications in the first place. :D

My contribution to the Texture Mods, the gold faceplate I published here for the pre-order bonus Inferno armor, was even made exclusively with free software (http://www.getpaint.net/).
