What would be cool is to see a team make a hirez texture pack.
I have been working on this, but it is a lot of work, and involves re editing many textures in a drastic manner. Hopefully I will be able to release something soon.

Interestingly enough... the Dragon Age armor helm already has a much higher pixel count texture (1024 x 1024) but a texture of the same dimensions does not appear to exist for the helm of other armor sets (Terminus, Inferno). It's almost as though they started with the idea, but had to scale back.
In any case, wouldn't it be more fun making new and unique content instead of trying to upscale the existing stuff?
I suppose it's less daunting if the categories of textures were taken on a case by case basis, like upgrading the computer display textures of certain NPC computer displays in the game world so that the text was actually readable, but skipping an upgrade of the skin of every NPC.
I know why this idea is attempted for very old games like System Shock 2, where the home-brew texture upgrade is wonderfully significant, and breathes life back into the title. Where ME2 would benefit is debatable.
Wolfehunter, could you provide some examples within ME2 where you think the textures are brazenly too low-res?

Found this thread on the site that is sort of related, suggests that you might need to update the video drivers:

Hopefully, maybe I'm dreaming, but somebody in the near future can find some way to create new game content such as more side-quests and the like, but that might actually be more complicated than it seems
Nice job of the retexing of the in-game weapons and armor, and even reskins for certain party members!

My drivers have been updated but the problem persists.
Edit: Completely reinstalled the game and still the same error.

I'm revising this post... I think the solution you need is here:

In this situation, you would rename the NVTT.DLL that is in the "Mass Effect 2\\Binaries" folder, and copy the NVTT.DLL version you see in that link above into that same folder. I make no guarantee that this will fix anything or that your computer will not implode into a rift in the space/time continuum, killing everyone within range of several thousand lightyears. Standard disclaimer, you understand.
A Google search shows that the nvtt.dll issue you described is pretty widespread across more than one situation and game for the Windows platform.
Do a search of your entire harddrive for nvtt.dll using an account on your computer that is an administrator (an account that is allowed to install software).
1) Does your computer find more than one copy of nvtt.dll?
2) In what directories does the computer find that file? If it's too much to type, post a screenshot to imageshack.us and link it in your reply.
3) In the folder where you keep TexMod, are there a lot of other unrelated files in that same folder?
