I find it depressing how all the people who feel the need to put themselves above romance always seem to equate relationships with just sex.

It would seem natural. She spent the last two years with the Flotilla after she had just finished her Pilgrimage, it would only be natural for suitors to start making advances. I'm sure at least a few of the offers "interested" her. It would be unrealistic to think she did nothing but sit around and mope after Shep died. She moved on and started her own life, that's what people do.

That's actually my view. That's how I see Tali/Garrus and why I'm not so happy with the fan service romancisation. Tali was like a little sister and Garrus was like a best friend/comrade-in-arms to my Shep in ME, but now they just tell him they're busy and can't talk just because he's not romancing them.

Meh, that was just a plot device to start initiating the romance, pure fan service. In fact Tali's appearance at all in ME2 was pure fan service. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the original direction of the character had led her to a much closer relationship with Kal. That's probably why they left some of the dialogue and innuendo in the game, just to give hints of what happens when Shep doesn't romance her.
