I find it depressing how if a female is relieved a male is safe and the only survivor of a team taken on a dangerous mission, it instantly means she wants to bone him.

I find it depressing how all the people who feel the need to put themselves above romance always seem to equate relationships with just sex.

Shepard-- "you putt your childrens in bubbles?". Great moment by Shepard!.

And nope, i didnt feel or see any possible past romancing between the two.

Jacob and Miranda on the other hand, oh yes yes!. =p

I think there was something between them.. it comes up in dialog, but I missed my chance to explore it.  I do recall Jacob saying "She deserves a better man than I" or something like that.

The OP was obviously referring to a sexual relationship.

Everyone has "a relationship" with everyone else.  It might be friendly, hostile, or even the relationship of "not knowing each other."

I don't put myself above romance.  I just think a modicum of thought is required before jumping to conclusions.

She can, but listen to the way Tali talks to him at her trial.

If I were female, I'd hate being called "ma'am" all the time, that just sounds weird, doesn't it?
"Kal, just call me Tali."
Oh yeah, very romantic. Remember how everyone else called her from the very start?
Referring to people by their first name doesn't really mean that much.

It would seem natural.  She spent the last two years with the Flotilla after she had just finished her Pilgrimage, it would only be natural for suitors to start making advances.  I'm sure at least a few of the offers "interested" her.  It would be unrealistic to think she did nothing but sit around and mope after Shep died.  She moved on and started her own life, that's what people do.

Not necessarily romance, but there is good potential for friendship, seeing as they're both squadmates and lone survivors of Haestorm. And Kal'Reegar says during trial, that if Admirals want to exile Tali, they may exile him as well.

I was getting it mostly from her tone, but maybe I'm wrong, like you said, there isnt much to go on. I thought it was more of a possibility.

That's a good point.  But, note the recording in her recruitment mission, where she's talking about how her race was able to he on Holstrum (or whatever) without wearing a suit.  "I wish Shepard were here."  Not, "I'm glad Kal's here with me to see this."

During her romance she said she's never trusted anyone enough before, except Shepard.

Meh, that was just a plot device to start initiating the romance, pure fan service.  In fact Tali's appearance at all in ME2 was pure fan service.  I wouldn't be surprised at all if the original direction of the character had led her to a much closer relationship with Kal.  That's probably why they left some of the dialogue and innuendo in the game, just to give hints of what happens when Shep doesn't romance her.

Jeeze... can't two characters be close friends without there being a love interest? They're squad mates. They're friends. They've been through their own hell together.

That's actually my view. That's how I see Tali/Garrus and why I'm not so happy with the fan service romancisation. Tali was like a little sister and Garrus was like a best friend/comrade-in-arms to my Shep in ME, but now they just tell him they're busy and can't talk just because he's not romancing them.

Quote for truth.

Oh.. I agree.  But, regardless of why they did it, that's how the story is laid out.  Frankly, I found that "I wish Shepard was here" to be very odd and out of place.  It's been two years, and I'm sure she's been busy, busy, busy.  Why think of him on one of her race's old colony worlds?

Liara and Tali are the female Kirk's of Mass Effect and we just don't know, flying around the galaxy picking up alien pootang.

Because she just met him on Freedom's Progress and realized he was alive? Durr.

This pretty much.  I doubt she was sitting around obsessing over Shepard after he died.

she had recently found you on freedom's progress. It makes sense she would have shep on her mind weather you're the guy she lost or her good girl friend.

Don't worry, you wouldn't believe how many people come to the conclusion that Tali's been on Haestrom for the last two years. I actually thought that myself for a while before realizing she wasn't.

I guess times have changed. I know when I was younger and not married females always downplayed.
