In fact Tali's appearance at all in ME2 was pure fan service.

Damn well-written fan service, I'd say.

I hate to break it to you but nothing could have ever happened to between Tali and Kal because ( and I can't stress this enough) it's a video game. Yes you have choices to make but the out comes are pre-determined and nothing can change that.

Sorry

Possibly. Personally, I'd like to see more relationships develop between NPC characters. Nothing as grandiose as something like Jensen and Ming in "Lost Odyssey", but little hints here and there that maybe Jacob and Miranda are pursuing past connections (if you didn't romance one of them, that is.) Same for Kaidan and Liara (if both are alive and un-involved).

Agreed, I thought the writing overall for Tali was pretty good.  Fan service when done well isn't a bad thing.

Did anyone else feel the chemistry between Tali and Kal. Something tells me these two are going end up together, connecting suits and making some bubbles. Thoughts?

She's with my male Shep so no, and with my femshep Kal died!  If ME3 plays out like it is s'pose to Kal will be nothing in one play and dead in the other.

Well Shepard has been gone for two years I bet Tali is no virgin and been with lots of guys.

Not according to her.

During her romance she said she's never trusted anyone enough before, except Shepard.

All females say that though

Hmmm.. they never tell ME that.

It's quite the opposite, uh... Ladies like to boast, these days.

well diffrent with humans we do not get sick without a suit. Not sure about you but if i were a quarian i would do it with someone i really trusted.

It doesn't matter what fandom it is, it seems to be a universal truth that if a character from a particular race/species/class/whatever gets popular, as soon as another character from the same race/species/class/whatever is introduced who also happens to be of the opposite sex, it automatically makes the two characters potential love interest.

Even if you don't romance Tali, your Shepard is still told that she is attracted to you (assuming you talk to Kelly), so obviously, it doesn't make sense for Bioware to have lingering feelings between her and Kal'Reegar too. It's like if ME3 introduced an African female, people would say she's perfect for Jacob. Urgh, some fans can be so short sighted.

Yes, Tali and Kal are Quaraians and they served together. That doesn't mean they need to fall in love. If anything, I thought Bioware went out of their way to hit the player over the head with the fact that Tali was in love with Shepard and only Shepard. This info is conveyed by Kelly, Tali's father and by Tali herself. What more needs to be done to convince you?

Kal/Tali is just wish fullfillment by some fans. There's no canon basis for it.

why is there no love for Veetor? i mean hes a bit shy but the bravest of the lot.

he can barely keep himself from cowering away when people talk to him in a crowd, but when tali needed support, he was the first to stand up infront of everyone and speak on her behalf. Reegar just feigned bravado on haestrom and acts tough. Veetor helped save a race of people and showed courage beyond the call of duty. i can see no more fitting partner for Tali

And anyway, Kal's a good guy. If there's no Shepard/Tali romance in ME2, I can't see what's wrong with a relationship between 'em... sometimes people get touchy about something that's not there at all... especially 'cause it's a fictional story and you're free to imagine whatever you want to fill the gaps. I always tried to push Jacob back with Miranda too.

Err, why jump to conclusions?

Tali'Zorah was on Haestrom on a mission. Orders came from Flotilla's admiralty.

Kal'Reegar and Quarian marines were there just to protect Tali'Zorah, nothing more. And as they've been through little hell together on that damn Haestrom, why wouldn't they become friends?

From what I see, Mass Effect became Romance Effect...

Well, I'm gonna go back to my Shep who has no romances through both Mass Effect 1 and 2.

I can see a possible Kal/Tali romance in ME3 unless your Shep romanced her. (Which both of mine so far have) Same as with certain dialogue options, you can see Jacob has a bit of a thing for Miranda but says that she 'Deserves a better man' than him.

Some NPCs have chemistry, but Shep has so much of it that it makes Dark Matter seem a little insignificant in comparison.

Well, I'm gonna go back to my Shep who's got a lifetime subscription to Fornax magazine.

Fixed :D

I think they have some chemistry? Will it be followed up on in the games? No. That's what fanfic is for.

Meh, that was just a plot device to start initiating the romance, pure fan service.  In fact Tali's appearance at all in ME2 was pure fan service.  I wouldn't be surprised at all if the original direction of the character had led her to a much closer relationship with Kal.  That's probably why they left some of the dialogue and innuendo in the game, just to give hints of what happens when Shep doesn't romance her.

Actually, if the "ORIGINAL" direction of the character had been implemented, Tali would've been a LI in ME1, which means she would've been in the Ashley/Kaiden/Liara role for ME2. So she would've been in ME2 regardless.

yes he was. tali's sqaud explains this to you on freedoms progress. he has a social disorder that makes him afraid of crowds. that is why he was on a small human settlement during his pilgrimage.

he was just further tramitized by the event, but still he has that disorder. it was a very brave thing he did standing up for tali in her trial.

I know Veetor's on his pilgrimage, but he just feels like he's 16 or so. Too young for Tali, who strikes me as late 20s....

Ka'ls smart though, and I like his personality. I'd love to have him as a squad mate in ME3.

I paragoned it... does anyone have a handle link to a YouTube which has them standing up for Tali?

I wouldn't say that... Tali is the gateway to the Flotilla, which is probably going to play a large roll in ME3. Or at least the conflict between the Geth and the Quarians.

I completely agree. I hope something comes of it. We could probably stop world hunger with the collective emotional breakdown energy of worldwide Talimancers.

i would hunt down Kal and kill him......Image IPB

yeah right before I shove the end of my Cain nuke gun up his rectum and pull the trigger. Tali is mine and if I as much as catch a whisper about him coming for her in ME3 I'll replay ME2 JUST to let him die on Heastrom

Veetor and Tali, uh...

Hell, I always liked Tali and I romanced her 'cause she's the most mentally stable character in the series so... no. Kal is better suited to her.

Hahahaha. That's a Quarian joke!
