I thought this too. I think it'd be really cute if you could hook them up, should you not romance her (as my FemShep obviously did not). Same with Miranda and Jacob.

I think this'll go in 2 ways. Either your Shepard romanced her and she'll be with you in ME3 or you didn't and she'll be with Kal'Reeger in ME3.
There is connection with Miranda and Jacob aswell. I think in ME3 they'll be together if you didn't romance either Miranda (as maleshep) or Jacob (as femshep).

Kal seems decent enough.  Can't say I got more than a mutual respect vibe, however.  I also got the impression that he might be significantly older than both Tali and Shep.  He's kind of like the Quarian Zaeed.  "Yeah, the rest of my squad is dead, I've been shot, it's infected, I can't really walk too well, but I'll stand up and take concentrated fire from a giant sentient tank 'cause I'm a hermetically sealed badass."

I went into the game expecting Kal to be competition for MaleShep but I didn't get that impression at all when I actually played Tali's recruitment mission.  He didn't give off that Princess Bride "As you wish"-vibe with all of his "ma'am"s; I just took it as him being dutiful.  The couple would have been cute, mind you, but if Kal was a love interest for anyone I'd prefer it to be with FemShep (and at this point I am more than satisfied with Garrus/Thane).

Before actually playing the game and finding out Tali was a romance option, from all the footage I saw, I thought he was either her boyfriend or her brother. Actually playing the game...I could possibly see it, maybe...but it seems Tali only has eyes for Shepard.

Where is this said? I've seen it all around the boards but no one has cited a single source. Their vastly different regional accents don't lend to the cousins theory.

Repeat after me: The fact that a girl you happen to like exchanged a few sentences with another man while on an assignment together does NOT mean that there is something between them.

There is not a single line in ME2 that suggests to anyone other than the most jealous/paronoid people that there's anything between Kal'Reegar and Tali.

Scotsman here and I have cousins in the U.S. I can tell you we definetely don't share the same accents.

Ken spent a lot of time flirting with Gabby though, so I doubt they're relatives... Although Space would be kinda like international waters I suppose...

To be fair, I'm almost positive this is the logic the in game romance sequences run on. By the way Zaeeds down in starboard cargo wondering when you're going to call, He's just too shy to say anything.

IMO, Tali may end up with Kal if Shepard doesn't work his charms on her, or if you're playing a FemShep.

I hope she does find somebody. My MainShep really likes her but made a promise two years ago to a certain little blue lady. Doesn't mean MainShep doesn't care for Tali; he does and wants Tali to be happy.
