I think having a demon party member would be cool. I really liked the one in Jade Empire. Wouldn't necessarily need to be a desire demon, but I just want to learn more about the fade spirits. Even though we spent a lot of time in the fade we never really learned much about it.

A desire demon possessing a party member. Or a party member with multiple personalities, one of which is the Demon, whom you need for something important, so you can't simply kill the person or remove the Demon.

Yes, I admit that has something to do with it.  (I am a Desire Demon Lackey afterall.)  However, I really do think that it would fit in well with the story and would provide some drastically different endgame paths to follow. Connor, the Templar Knight in Mage Cirlce are just two excellent ideas to use to make this happen.  The game lore just lends itself nicely to this addition.

I doubt that most people would know what the Demons look like, so I don't see any problems with them being in your party.

PC: Hello, passerby! Meet me and my various party members!

Passerby: Hello! Although I am unused to meeting purple-skinned, glowing-eyed individuals with horns and blue flames for hair wearing nothing but twin nipple-rings linked by a slender gold chain and behaving in an aggressively sensual manner, I have no information that links such a description to a specific kind of demon. Therefore I am untroubled by her presence.

Desire Demon: Snarl! Spit! Hiss!

Passerby: My, what a spirited young woman-thing! I'm delighted to meet you both.

**LOL** Yes, she sure is a feisty littling thing, isn't she? Emphasis on the word "thing"!

/agree shapeshifting was poorly implemented (so much more they could do with this)
/agree the ability to have a minion for blood magic would be fun :)
/agree party needs more (catch phrase coming) diversity :)

My favorite aspect of Bioware games that hasnt been reused yet was KOTOR 2 in which you could change your party by making them more good or evil and their apperance and interactions changed based upon this.

Desire Demon Lacky

That wasn't a BioWare game. Also, the implementation of alignment -> influence in KotOR 2 didn't actually work because the companions remained the same, dialogue-wise. For example, Visas suggests killing innocents in the bar on Onderon even if she's been brought to LS mastery.

Jade Empire, which was a BioWare game, did feature the companion influence feature and in a much more successful way (that is to say characters that were made evil were so)

Now... How about this? We have a party member that acts completely normal, perhaps a bit suspicious from time to time and looks completely human or elven. Then, as time goes by, we find out it is in fact a demon?

Think about it.. his/her personal quests could have us murder innocents or search for forbidden knowledge or whatnot and then in the end when we do find out we have to either murder him/her, make a deal with him/her or whatnot.

***Spoiler to original coming***

Hmmm, doesn't that sound a bit like our favorite little swamp witch :)  I think I'll have to end up getting the PC version of the game so I can mess around with Mods.  However, Ill keep asking for more Desire demon in upcoming Dragon Age games (because thats what a Desire Demon Lackey does!)

Having a demon as a party member would be very cool!! I mean it's a demon it's allways cool!!

The demon could come with us after we defeat some kind of mague that was keeping him prisioner in some sort of magical circule that conencts the fade with the Dragon ages world.

I'd much rather have someone possessed by a Pride demon, personally. Or better yet, Sloth from the mage origin. Desire demons are bit overused, at least in my opinion.

Pride demon would be too proud of itself and try to overthrow you only to be ripped apart. Sloth would be too lazy. Rage and Hunger would just want to kill/eat you. Desire could have some reason to follow you but im not sure what.

After seeing firsthand all the bugs and glitches in Awakenings, I'm glad Bioware decided to wait on my idea until the next full game. I would not want my Desire Demon to be all glitchy and buggy :)

Post Bioware countdown update, well it was as I expected. The countdown on the Bioware site didnt lead to the announcement that the next Dragon Age game would include a Desire Demon as a party member. Maybe on the next countdown (crosses fingers).
