Lincer, you should've Backup'd your saves. it's something real useful with formatting your PC or uninstalling a game.

Game ran better for me before I patched it. Crashes more now. Was really hoping so see a fix for the "stuck 8 feet in the air" bug. If nothing else, that one is the worst. Also, saves are grayed out for the entire mission now. Save points were already sparse, now they're pretty much non-existant. Really sucks having to start at the beginning of a mission every time you get killed.  Also, if you go back looking for ammo and stuff, the game resets your kills however far you go back.

It's nice to see them patching the game, but they shouldn't bother it they're going to create more problems than they fix. Is there a way to undo this patch?

My game crashed frequently after installing the patch as well.  I ended up uninstalling my game and reinstalled it again without the patch (I did make sure to I kept all my saved games) before my entire system gets ruined.  The game is running fine again.  I'm not sure what it was in the patch that made my game unstable.  I suppose I will wait for the next patch - perhaps all the bugs will be ironed out by that point.

I encountered a new bug actually. That is, I never encountered this before the patch: On the mission to recruit Samara, the final stretch of it, Garrus apparently got stuck during a fight without me noticing it.

I only noticed it because he was grayed out (his skills unavailable) in the next fight. He did not return when I recalled my squad either. In fact, he only returned during an animation sequence where he had a line in. Only to get stuck a second time and return during the next animation sequence.

An odd bug that I haven't encountered pre-patch.

Just to clarify:

I can't connect to the Mass Effect 2 servers after patching.

Something that would be cool for the next patch would be an update of some of the strings.

It's really annoying if you have changed the keybinding and the game still says "Press 'F' to ..."

There would be two options either use the correct key that has been bound or just alter the string to something more generic like "Press <melee>('F' standard) to ..."

This would prevent some of the threads and reports in Tech Support

I installed the patch last night, and haven't had a single issue.

I don't noticed any faster loading times, mine were already pretty quick. I never had any of the dual-core issues so didn't noticed any changes there. Overall I found it fixed more for me. The Collector rifle graphic was causing issues, which is fixed now.

So, the patch hasn't failed for everyone, I'm working just as well as I was since the first install. *Cheers quietly in a corner*

"Rylor Tormtor wrote...

Did you try the manual affinity fix? This cuts my loading time down to almost nothing. After firing up the game, set the affinity for the process to 1 core, press ok. Then set it to all cores, and press ok."

Its not something I would do, as it may well put undue stress on the single core it goes to, plus messing about with afinity can kill cores if youre not careful what and how...

I will be leaving the game til this is solved. I have done the same with DA:O which suffers from an identical issue with dual core processors (not sure about quad cores) I'm not going all conspiracy theory or anything, but its weird that two games from the same Dev's despite using different engines both send cpu usage through the roof (At least on dual cores)

I kinda dumb about stuff like this, so does this patch also apply to those who bought ME2 and the Digital Deluxe Version via Steam?

I imagine this is a side effect of the game being a PC port, but it did cause me some headaches initially.  At least I can rebind keys.  I wouldn't be able to play the game if I had to use the stock (lame) keybindings.  Rebinding the left mouse button caused me endless problems in ME1.  At least that doesn't happen in ME2.  Though, It sure would be nice if the game could recognize bindings when it provides on-screen instructions.

Seeing how my game is running fine already, I'll wait with installing the update and just keep the patch on my hard drive.

Oh. God I love Steam. And Valve. Which is why I keep naming Commander Shepard "Adrian." :P

That aint no bug. That's a glitch. Just like a fubar ain't a snafu.
I had Garrus and Tali hanging out with me on the CIC one time. Tried to get em up to my quarters to show em my model collection but no go. Damn.

oh yeah. Next patch it'd be nice to have the Ilos theme added to Shep's alarm clock. lol. An analogue clock that plays music. Nice touch BW.

This is a small thing but has anyone else noticed that after the patch, some characters have their eyelashes missing? Not all of them which is weird, but some of them. Like my main character. And Gianna Parisini. Makes their eyes look really strange. And I know they had eyelashes before the patch.

All?

More like some, you clearly don't realize the complexity of today's games. And you've never had the horrible experience of playing games with bugs before the internet became such a phenomenon, if you had a bug back then, you were screwed, that was it. Or you could try and modify your pc in such a way that it would work.

Although I hate how wide spread bugs have become, I know it's just a consequence of bigger, better and more complex games. (that and a bigger variety in hardware)

"Fixed an issue where remapping the right mouse button blocks camera control in the command HUD."

I play with the RMB remapped, and prior to the patch never encountered the aforementioned issue.

Guess what?  After patching, I now cannot control the camera using RMB in the command HUD!  Awesome! :wizard:

Reinstall/downgrade here I come!

Well... I love the game... But this patch made more problems, than it solve. I hope there will be hotfix soon.

Anyone heard from BW on whether this or another patch will be a prerequisite for the Hammerhead DLC late next month?  So far my initial instal is working quite well - just the floating & ended up on top o' walls problem.  So if it ain't broke, I'm not going to "fix" it by installing patches that don't specifically call out the problem or two I'm having.  But if patch is only way to activate key bindings for driving, then that's just a lousy position that BW put me in...
