Jacob I'll give you, but really. Miranda? Such harshness, and unfounded. She's clearly well modeled for a video game character(at very close to whom she was modeled after). Personality is what it is, but don't hate the way she looks. Frankly alot of male players thinks she is at leat a moderately attractive character.
I don't normally judge on looks, but if a character is going to harp on and on and on about how bloody perfect they are, I will scrutinise, and Miranda doesn't pass the test.
Also cat suits are so mid-1990s

Miranda. Never really warmed to her. Same with Jacob. Also, I don't like Cerberus. After I officially declare independence from Cerberus, I'd politely ask them to leave the ship and do secret agent stuff.

I already gave you a relevant reason why his charachter sucks in ME2. Or did you miss this post?Busomjack wrote...
ha, as if I care about making you see my point. I liked Zaeed because he reminded me of Canderous Ordo and that is a good enough reason for me to like him because Canderous was my favorite character in KOTOR.
That is a much more relevant a reason than saying "I dun like him cuz he's lame, lol!"I think this counts a whole lot more to the value of his character than your nostalgia.St Mael wrote...
Zaeed? Are you kidding me?! He is as much involved in the game and the story as Conrad Verner, he doesn't even have dialog aboard the Normandy and no connection of any kind to Shepard, he's just there as nothing but
a paperweight. He has got to be the most superficially implemented character in any game ever made by Bioware. It's no surprise that he always is dead last in every popularity poll ever held on these boards. I seriously doubt your ability to judge good (or bad) writing of characters.
P.S. I did mess with him and lived just fine. I punched him in the face and he didn't even have the guts to call me on it, I let his biggest enemy escape and he still ended up being loyal to me. I don't see much backbone in that.
I think you missed my point which is I don't have to justify my reasons for liking him too you and I could care less about whether or not you like him. I thought his war stories were humorous and exciting to listen to and I thought he had the best loyalty mission.
Gameplay wise he was also one of the better characters since he could use assault rifles and sniper rifles and his inferno grenade was just flat out awesome against Krogan/Vorcha.
Punching him as a paragon and making him see the importance of not putting revenge above the mission is what added depth to his character, more so than many of the other characters in fact.

Fair enough, I can't force you not to like him for your own reasons. Just get the fact that you are in the overwhelming minority, most people don't even care about him enough to have an opinion on his character, and characters like Liara have infinitely more fans and support than Zaeed.Busomjack wrote...

Liara - She was my second favorite in ME1 but the new Liara is a ****
Udina - Even his brief appearance made me wanna punch him

Liara, because she grew so distant and cold during the two years of Shepard's absence.
Ashley, for the way she treated me on Horizon.

True, but wouldn't you want to be able to punch him yourself in ME3?
I will agree that Zaeed has certain grim charisma to his person, and I usually took him with me for the most dangerous assignments where I figured I'd need some hardboiled and reliable firepower. I may not like him, but I trust him long as he's paid by Cerberus and I definitely trust he'll get the job done, no matter what.
However, I wouldn't even remotely compare him to Canderous. Ordo has a purpose, agenda and a fierce nation to take care of. He's a warlord, the mercenary part of his career was just to make it before finding his real place.
Also, you guys should give more appreciation to Tali. Her personality made huge leaps from ME1. Half of these forums seems to think she's the best written, most compelling and deep character in ME2. We love her, we're called the Talimancers and we're watching you
Cheers...

Certain non-party members however...
Udina is top of my **** list. Seriously did anyone here voluntarily pick him for councilor? The only way I'll tolerate this loser in ME3 is if I'm given the chance to paragon interrupt head-butt him. ('paragon' interrupt you ask? Yeah cause the 'renegade' interrupt would hit a bit more south if you catch my meaning) or at the very least give him the mother of all verbal whippings. Followed by Tali quipping, "It's fun watching Shepard shout."

Jack is being a bit of a **** to me but I don't blame her, she obviously has issues and thinks everyone is nice to her wants to bone her. Grunt needs to calm down or find a Krogan clan who can satisfy his need to kill everything in sight. Samara I think would be better off working as a Justicar than under me. Zaeed is just a merc and doesn't really need to stick around. Garrus, Tali, Thane, Legion, Miranda, Jacob, and Mordin all seem to work well under my command and I would like to see them return. Miranda and Jacob will have to be willing to work with the alliance and council though, or else they can leave. I would love to have Wrex but he's needed where he is. I would like Ashley to come back if she changes her attitude and apologizes. Liara, well I don't know. Not only is my Shepard with Tali now but I really don't like the person she's become. If she has a complete change of heart and then accepts that Iv'e moved on, she can come back to my crew. Donnelly and Daniels, Chakwas, Joker, and EDI all need to be back. To be honest, Kelly is a bit creepy but I don't neccesarily mind having her around.
Udina and the Turian Councilor can just suck it. I wouldn't KILL them, that's not how I roll but I really wish they would get out of my hair.

I dont want Jacob to be a squad mate. He's too boring, Id rather have an edgy wise cracking alliance slick marine.

Jacob: Very bland. Not because he's a good guy but because there's so much wasted potential. I wanted to hear more about his Corsair days. Also, who thought it was a good idea to have him say Miranda "required a better man?" What does that make Fem!Shep?
Grunt: Came off as Wrex without the self-knowledge.
Garrus: Sorta. I like Garrus, but I'd ****** to see another internal conflict than whether he should embrace his inner Dirty Harry.

If any of those are confirmed as sqaud members for ME3 I'm going to start a new game to kill them off.
Hopefully I can requisition a new pilot as well.

For any of the characters who survive in my Mass Effect 2 game to be in Mass Effect 3.
Tali. Her personality is practically non-existant. Every conversation
she has is some explanation about Quarian culture and customs. She's
basically just a walking Quarian encyclopedia. Of course Bioware had
to cave in to cave pressure and give her a romance that felt akward and
forced. Her best moment was when she died in the engine room, you hear
her go "AHHHHGHHHH!!!" At least she won't be showing up in my Mass
Effect 3.
Generally I try to ignore the fact it is possible for Tali to die if certain conditions aren't met.
Not sure where you are getting the "no personality" from. Tali's personality is among the better developed in Mass Effect. There are actually some subtleties in her view on the Geth.
The same "encyclopedia" argument can be made for Jack, Miranda, Liara, and Ashley; they all use their backgrounds as referential points when describing their feelings to Shepherd.

I like the character, but I hate the stupid deus ex machina where initially a character is put into a desperate situation and later an unforeseen and unlikely plot device save him/her. Mass Effect 2 was Thane's redemption and put his life in order before he could die in peace.
Having him back in Mass Effect 3 in any way, beyond a carefully written "farewell" scene, would totaly ruin him as a character.
Otherwise, I want everyone back, if possible.
