I don't want Liara to return, or if she does only as some kind of advisor/helper, not in my squad. She put me to sleep in ME1.

uh huh. good luck with that.

plus, how would having her as a squadmate make her worse to deal with? you just wouldn't have to take her with you. slap her in any advisory/helper postion and she'll be talking your ear off the whole playthrough.

The only character that should never show up again ever is Morinth... who even likes her? She literally has no story besides "I'm a serial murderer/mind-rapist."

One, i'm assuming neither you or myself will have to deal with her ever again.......she's dead, right?

Two, I have a hard time seeing how "I'm a serial murderer/mind-rapist" translates into "literally having no story". just sayin'.

Liara....was boring in ME1 and just did not like her in ME2. Unfortunately, as she was a possible LI in ME1 I am almost positive she will return.

Zaeed definitely can stay gone.

Zaeed: "Shepard, wanna hear a few stories? You may learn something.

Shepard: "Seriously dude? You took down a Turian ship. Wow! I took out a 50 Million year old advanced sapient machine and tracked down and killed the councils best Spectre."

And THAT is why we should have had dialog options with him. Just to shut him up.

Liara.  She is blue and ugly.  Her personality is dull and her interest in Shepard seemed more like a human fetish than anything genuine.  Her attitude in Mass Effect 2 was very cold and distant and her change of personality just didn't fit her well.

well. i didn't find her ugly at all, although i would say that she is one of the least attractive asari out there. blue is also not a problem for me.

as for her personality, i agree for the most part. she is not a bad person, but hardly what i would call attractive in terms of personality.

I completely agree with you on "her interest in Shepard". however, i support her return to in ME3 simply because i play a Lesbian Femshep and Liara is the only option thus far other than Kelly Chambers (and some would say "only" Kelly qualifies there, but whatever my Femshep certainly doesn't like Asari for their "manly" features).  anyway, i guess in that regard i can't fault Liara's interest in Shepard simply as a human fetish because that is essentially the level of interest my Femshep has for Liara. Sexual liason is better for my character than no liason at all.

I utterly agree with your assessment of Liara in ME2 as being "cold" & "distant", however this would have made her more appealing to me if it wasn't so cheesily done.

Jack - Yeah, you always had the worst off that project back then... you don't mind the records telling you about the other children that died so that they won't kill you with their experiments. You still go on and feel so sorry for yourself... I enjoyed listening to your pain when you got shot up leading the second fireteam while I had a nice walk in a biotic bubble...

Miranda - Perfect woman and in absolute need to tell everyone about it... guess what, your face looks like a space monkey on drugs, your all-present 'smile' creeps the hell out of me and your tough chick routine will only lead to your death by a giant steel bar when my Renegade Femshep takes your non-loyal oversized butt to the Terminator.

Why waste a squad slot with her when you could fill it with a character thats actually interesting, like Mordin?

No, just no. You're a bland do-nothing friend and a sleazy, creepy LI. Go away and die.

Miranda.
You don't get to talk of genetic perfection with a face that vaguely resembles a rabbit. Also put on some clothes.

Agree with this and will add Conrad Verner.

I'd like to see all of them again. There's some I'm not as fond of, but there isn't a character I really hate in the ME 'verse. My favorites I would give precedence to, if there was a limited amount of spaces for party members, but barring that, give me my whole huge squad of 1 and 2 combined back. :D Well, except Ash. She died.

not sure if there is such a thing as "wasting a squad slot". depends on if they have a limited number of squad slots, which at this point they do not obviously. i don't really care for Liara too much either, but i can almost guarantee that she will play a "pivotal" role in ME3. particularly for those that have a romance with her, that much has been said already by the devs.

1. Jacob. He was fine as a character, but all kinds of awful as a LI. I think he served his purpose as the token human male in ME2 and doesn't warrant a space on the ship/squad in ME3 (especially if Kaidan rejoins in ME3). Would be cool if we see him as an NPC ally, though, perhaps during the final fight with the reapers & commanding his own ship?

2. Liara. Just because I think Samara is infinitely cooler/sexier, and if she had been a LI in ME2 I just might have gone gay for her in one playthrough. Alas, my heterosexuality remains intact.

3. Every single volus character. I cannot stand the way they speak - it's like listening to a severely overweight person who just ran two feet. "Why *HUFF* hello *WHEEZE* Earth-clan."

Jacob bored me to tears. Why can't we have an interesting human male? We get Zaeed and Jacob...woot. Now there's ANOTHER human female...the male/female human ratio is bull****.

Grunt was SUCH A STEP DOWN DROM WREX!!! I would trade him for Wrex in a second...plus he's a super racist, which was NOT cool.

Jack. That fact that she is so full of herself annoys me. The way she says that SHE went through so much and that SHE had it so hard...b!tch, my family was murdered when I was 16! Screw You!!!

Zaeed...wait, who's this guy that I never take on my missions...yeah, that guy.

Tali...I'm tired of her. She annoyed my in the first game, and while she wasn't as bad in the second, I have been all Tali-ed out.

The rest were interested or at least have potential, like Miranda...don't like her, but I think her story could get interesting...

Jacob. Could replace him with a cardboard box; the box would be more interesting. Plus, no sleazy romance lines.

I like them all.

I can get behind this.  For me, the Mass Effect franchise resembles the Star Trek universe in its abundance of fan favourites, on the one hand, and characters who are almost universally despised on the other.

From what I'm hearing, many people don't like Zaeed, Jacob, or Miranda and Jack certainly has her share of detractors as well.  I find it funny because, like the less popular characters in the first game, all these characters are human.

While I never aquired Zaeed, I don't really have any problem with the others.  Jacob is bland, but scores points for saluting me.  And Miranda...I guess I just have a thing for Australian girls.

It'd be kinda creepy if Tali showed up since she's dead in all my playthroughs....

Heh heh, you said it. Well, all but one. Had to see the "everyone survives" ending, but that's a one time thing. Every other time, the quarian fetish object is toast. There are so many ways to kill Tali, you can alternate between playthroughs! Image IPB

So Tali is one for my list. A constant damsel in distress Shepard always has to white knight for. A pathetic case compared to all other female squaddies.

Others?

- Thane. The lame artsy fartsy flashbacks killed a character already on thin ice with me. "It always rains on Kahje"... like something from a really pretentious fanfic. Image IPB

- Garrus. He's had his moment in the sun, and just isn't very interesting to me any longer. Damn bastard won't talk to you if you're not into rutting with turians. Besides, we'd just have to kill some "old acquintance" for him in ME3 again.

- Liara. The new deranged Liara as written by Mac Walters, that is. Went from a personal favorite in ME1 to least favorite in ME2. A wrecked FUBAR character.

Everyone else, I'm either ambivalent about or like to varying degrees.

Jack annoys me too and the fact that I lost her loyalty right after gaining it really annoys me. The short memory disorder seems to be spreading like the common flu these days. I do appreciate their efforts to try and create a character who isn't just another generic human though.
