I am at this tombstone and after I disturb the ward, there is this boss Revenant and like 4 adds.  They wiped my party within seconds.  I set up the tactics of my party to generally assist me.  I have tried the strategy of tanking the boss and the adds while having my party to take off add by add but my tank has had a tough time to stay alive - with potions and healing spell.   My party is about level 9, but  DAO mobs are tagged to current party level, yes?  I am playing at normal mode and so far, OK.   Do I have to revisit this place again once I level up?   I am concerned that the area will be closed after the main quest is completed at East  Brecilian forest and  I won't be able to revisit this encounter again.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Alright ... I guess I have to level up first?

Your party equipped appropriately for its level? Also, I handle this like some of the epic fights in EQ2 - main tank + off-tank (rogue fills in nicely). You won't lose access to this area - so you can always try again later.

Hiya ... I am not sure what level is considered as well equipped.  I suppose I look out for things that I can afford.   I am very new to  DAO.  And I think I am running out of gold very easily.

Level 9 is pretty early for this encounter. I would come back later. My strategy for that one is to cast Force Field on the Revenant while I take care of the lackeys.

lol, I do the exact same thing when playing a mage. If am rge I usually have the tank pull the revenant at a safe distant, and have the rest of the team take out the adds asap.

Revenants won't "level down" to you at level 9, they'll just be very tough. You *can* beat them with some combination of the following (many of these tactics are considered mildly cheesy and some have been noted by others):

- Keep no more than two fighters in melee/close, and have Wynne keep them healed while at least one other party member uses ranged weapons/magic to DPS

- Use hexes on the Revenant to make them hit worse and take more of your damage

- Use telekinetic weapons for additional AP

- Use Cone of Cold to immobilize the Revenant (he won't take damage but you can keep hitting him)

- Use Force Field on him first, while you take care of a couple of other mobs

- Aggro him with your tank, then Force Field the tank

- Force Field him to give time for the party to heal up and reposition

- Make a metric butt-ton of healing poultices before engaging

Sandal approves +10 This is my method.
As Napolean once said "Divide and conquer beaches!" or something to that effect

Don't come back before level 12

Good advice from flagondotcom!
I especially reccommend a mage casting a Misdirection Hex, that way the Revenant's vicious double strikes don't mow down multiple party members at once.

Go back later when you're at a higher level. I would advise completing the "Broken Circle" quest(if you haven't already) ASAP for the attribute bonuses.

Not to ask too dumb of a question or anything, but as far as having somebody keep their distance and use ranged weapons . . . Is there an easy way to set  Alistair and Liliana up as archers in this fight, in their combat tactics? They always seem to abandon their relatively safe distance in order to melee.

Do you have their behaviour set to ranged in the tactics screen?

Thanks for the swift response! . . . Can you break that down for me a little more?

On the tactics screen, on the top right hand corner, there's a list of behaviour options. Aggressive, defensive, etc. Setting it to ranged should keep them from running into melee range or switching to melee weapons.

Revenants do have an ability that pulls targets towards them, incidentally. If it's using that on your archers, you'll probably need to run them back out again afterwards.

I see! There's always more to discover about this game. Thanks very much, I will try this out.
