I finished ME2 in Normal Difficulty.
Then, I started a new game in Insanity Difficulty by importing my ME2 character.
After a few missions Insanity-mode seems too difficult for me.
I would like to start a new game in Hardcore-difficulty. (by importing my ME2 character)
Is that possible ??
abort in-progress 2nd playthrough and start a new ?

in other words...
how do I stop insanity-playthrough and start a new hardcore-playthrough ?
Of course, I want to re-import my normal-playthrough character.

Repeat the same process like you did to begin in insane, only that when choosing difficulties, instead of Insane, chose hardcore

Sorry, I thought that the "new game" option was gone.
(i am currently at work...)
I thought I only had the "resume", "load game" & "extras" options.
I feel so dumb.
thanks for the help anyway !

perhaps im missing something but couldn't you just change the difficulty in game? whenever I haven't been able to do something on a certain difficulty I just do that.

The insanity difficulty achievement only counts if you play the game start-to-finish on that difficulty

The OP isn't going for the Insanity achievement. He wants to start a new playthrough on Hardcore because he doesn't understand that he can simply go into the Options menu and change the difficulty mid-game.
