I see that the PC patch is out and I'm wondering when (if ever) we will see a console patch available? Mass Effect 1 never saw any patches on the Xbox. Is it going to be the same for Mass Effect 2?

I don't see why they wouldn't. One of the things being patched is Vehicle controls, supposedly getting ready for the Hammerhead release.

All of the other AAA titles I play on 360 are regularly patched by their makers. I always wondered why ME1 did not get the same support. I hope the same is not true for ME2.

True. But with Bioware keeping their lips shut tight how are we suppose to even know when it's put into the certification process.

Unfortunately if Dragon Age is any indication we may have a LONG wait ahead of us.  DA:O still hasn't recieved any kind of patch besides the one addressing Achievments.  
And there are FAR more issues, I'm looking at you DEX Bug, in DA than in ME2.

The bugs between the PC and X360 version may have some common ground, but some bugs may only be for one system. Thus, seeing a PC patch does not mean that the same items will be patched for the X360, although most likely under normal circumstances.



It is sad, although, that PC users pay $10 less, go through less hurdles to get patches, have an easier time cheating, and can use a mouse. The only reason I got the X360 version was because I wanted to import a save from ME1.

What other third-person shooter has the camera detatch from the character? Seriously, I die because of this glitch on a regular basis. If Gears of War shipped with this bug, it would be fixed within a day after release.



All I have to go by is Mass Effect 1's non-existent support after launch. I hope they release a patch that actually fixes these bugs before releasing any significant DLC. If such is not the case, I won't be purchasing any DLC for ME2.

Providing a patch is not as simple as "Oh, a bug. Here is the fix." First, they have to repeat the bug reliably. Then they narrow down and locate the bug. Then they work on a fix. Typically, the fix is simple, but finding it depends on what is wrong.

Also, often with console games, certain things that are needed for PC patches are already applied to the console version, so the patches are often not the same, nor released at the same time. That said, DAO players (like myself) are still waiting on a 360 patch to fix the Dex issue (which currently does not work as intended, which happens to be the defining criteria for a patch).

I understand bug fixing is not easy and I also understand ME2 just came out. But what about Dragon Age? That game has been out for months and they still haven't released a patch that fixes the bugs. What is the excuse for that?
