Hey people.

I've been doing some work with the level editor and I have run into a few bugs that hopefully someone can help me with.

1. When I make a new terrain material I cant just copy the " new material" that I made into another level file. Or save it in  a place to call it back later. Is there a way to do this?

2. How do I make sure that my custom materials are exported with the level project?

3. There are other terrain materials on the Wiki, Also in the game.

How do I load these materials in the editor? ( I know I've missed something simple )

4. Is there a way to make more sophisticated shaders? ( does the Material editor work well? )

5. How can I make the terrain mesh more tessellated? If I want to do a footprint effect or something.

thx board !:alien:

1. I dont think you can, no. Could be a good feature request!

2. The terrain you create in the level editor get turned into full-fledged models when exporting, so the materials get exported as textures automatically, you dont need to do anything at all.

3. in the level editor, expand the tree view, look under terrain mesh and palette. Right click on palette then insert-> new material. Once you have your new material, look at its properties and you can assign diffuse, normal and specular textures (these are the ones you see on the wiki) to it. Then you can paint with your new material.

4. I have no idea, but my guess is no.

5. There is a tesselate tool in the level editor, you paint with it just like with other brushes. I dont think you can tesselate it to such a fine level as to have footprints though.
