The customization of Shepard's armor is a vast improvement over the original game, buying parts in stores is just more realistic.

But I do find the options very limited. There are very few options and its more of the same mostly. Its all pretty much the same style.

I would like to see lighter armor for example, it shouldnt all be so heavy. Something more customized and personalized would be great.

Light armor combined with some cloth could also be a nice addition, like having a long coat with or without sleeves over the armor.

Anything that does not make Shepard look like a Masterchief would be welcome of course. I dont like the plate armor look.

More options of course, Helmet Toggle is a must,

And yea something like what Thane/Jacob wears wouldn't go amiss either if thats what you mean by light Armor.

I'm all for lighter looking armor options, I'd also like to see more open-face helmets or headgear options.

It did seem a bit strange that they put in this whole system to pick and choose armor parts, when there are so few choices available, including DLC.

I guess to that end, I would simply love to see more options down the line or possibly at the least, for ME3.

I'm actually fine with the armor, I just wish that you could helmet toggle like pretty much everyone else. It definitely is odd that they put in such a wonderful customization system that you can only use on one armor set.

I would love a bit more variation in the material and pattern choices, and I wouldn't complain about another dozen or so color options. I also wish you could modify hair style/color and makeup/facial hair in the various bathrooms encountered in the game.

It would be nice if they could come up with better choices for casual wear also, agree with more choices in armor as well. Also can anyone tell me what the idea was for the bathrooms?

Glad to see so many liking the new system. Bunch of others are advocating to return to the old one...what a horrid thought!

Light armor is definite...and certainly more armor options.

@EleventhLokust

This is actually a good suggestion too. I think you can do that in DA:O isn't it? Limited appearance customization.

I agree with everything in this thread. My first playthrough was as an Adept, and I felt silly wearing all that heavy armor. I would LOVE to be dressed more like Samara (but maybe with my boobs covered).

More customizing please. When I heard about the Asari funeral robe, I thought it would be awesome to have something like that as casual wear. It almost feels like the customizing was incomplete.

The very definition of Armor is to be Armored. You can't stop a slug traveling at 2% the speed of light with spandex.

That said, More options, but options that have to logically reflect what the armor does. No Health+500% on a kinetic padded thong. Or +80% Weapon damage on Blue ****** tassels.

"Lighter" armors tend to increase Power damages, and Cooldowns.

"Medium" Armors Tend to Increase Shield and Weapon Damages.

"Heavy" Armors Tend to increase Health and Ammo Capacity.

Let's see some armor components that increase more than just one thing. Something baring the name "Aegis Vest" should have done a little more than Health+5%.

I can understand No Toggle-Helmet option for the N7 custom Modular armors, but for the Pre-order and Cerberus Network armor, it's just a slap in the face to both the player and ironically the developers who spent countless man-days on facial expression and eye noise.

I wouldn't mind more armor looks but I'd prefer the gameplay effect to be pretty lightweight, so I can pick what I think looks good without worrying too much about stats. In Mass Effect 1, my Infiltrator was dressed like an urban-camo trapeze artist for most of the game because that was the best light armor I had.

The point is any class can wear any armor, and there is no penalty for wearing armor, only bonuses. But if an armor increases Health or Shields by 20% it should look like it would, IE: Reinforced ceramic Plates. If an Armor looks like it would lower cooldowns (Lighter, less wear on the soldier and more flexible) it should look the part.

More pieces for sure. With only four pieces per slot you can't make too many good combinations... Also, more "unique" things, not just +health or +damage. A second item for extra melee damage, a second item for recharge delay reduction, a couple recoil reduction items, etc...

Helmet toggle and/or more visor-style helmets. Lighter-looking armor. Generally more pieces.

Also, more 'patterns'; you get either camo, or the racing stripes that look like a sprayed-on bikini on a femShep.

Definitely agree, it seems strange they even bothered to put in the casual options when there were so few available.  I honestly thought we would be able to acquire more later in the game but sadly this isn't the case.
Also not so much a complaint, more a thought but did anyone else find it strange how Shep is not in casual wear on places like the Citadel or Ilium?
I alway felt a bit awkward roaming around shopping fully decked out in gear.

It would be nice if you could apply the customizable armor parts to the DLC armors. The bonus to survivability in the Blood Dragon armor is nice enough, but I really want to keep my off-hand ammo pack =(

Some armors with alien culture in the design. Like Garrus's armor or Mordin's lab coat. Could work for combat or casual. Could also have bonuses to paragon renegade or special quests and dialog options. Also some stupid fun things as well. Like a tri corner hat or sailor outfit seeing as how your in the "navy".

I would like to have the old style alliance armors available from ME1 like the one you have at the beginning and the ability to bring NO heavy weapon with me so i don't have something on my back.

i would prefer more customizable parts and armor sets (like the heavy N7 armor from the intro) and the ability to tint your visor; common shep's full N7 helm was just killed with the transparent visor

Is it wrong to prefer the old N7 helmet over the new one? I do.

And squad-wide customization please. I'm sorry but just breathers and leaving inordinate amounts of bare skin makes NO SENSE in open vacuum. You could justify it in the intro with Joker, seeing as he was only exposed for a few seconds, but not Miranda/Mordin/Thane/Jack/etc. It would of been nice to see my entire squad wearing hard-suits, and besides, it's not like they can't be form-fitting to hug the curves if that's what they wanted with Miranda. Just slap some light armour on her and a Cerberus logo somewhere on the cuff.

It'd also be nice to coordinate my team's colour coding and customize armour pieces to better accommodate their roles better. And maybe allow me to fix Garrus's armour.

As long as it has a mass effect field generator somewhere on it, spandex works fine.

I got my fem shep's armour looking good, so no complaints there. Male I just use the Inferno armour.

Wouldn't mind more casual clothing options though, I'd like to use something other than the default but they all look crap. Or an ability to mix and match and change colours. Also wouldn't mind some more casual clothing missions.

Bioware could do the helmet hide during the dialogue/cinematic parts like they did in Dragon Age
