This is how I understand this. While a new level is beeing loaded, a .bik movie is playing. My question is this: is it supposed to be playing until the end of the movie, always, even if the level is fully loaded after 3 seconds or should the rest of the movie be cut off ?

Someone from BioWare tech team please explain me this.

Most of the times my games loads as fast as the loading movies or faster, so sometimes they are cut off. Especially on board of the Normandy.

Yepp, Normandy load screens get cut off. The normal ones "landing on a planet" get played through.

The loading screens seem to be a relic of the slow console scene loading and only needed for low end computers. The actual scene loading is much quicker than the loading movies and can be shortened drastically. Make your own .bik files to replace the loading screens. I took a few second shot of my dogs sleeping on the bed and used it in place of the loading screens. Rad tools converted the avi file to.bik.
