 I was wondering how old all the characters were.  Generally the ages would be on the website but can't seen to find them.  So does anyone know where I can find their ages or does anyone just know?    

Edit: I was wondering about your team mates.  I figure the PC's age depends on the player since we can make them look really young or really old.  My question for:  Alistair, Zevran, Leliana, Wynne, Oghran, Sten and Morrigan.  (I apologize if the names are misspelled.)  I was wondering if Bioware had official ages for them.

I think he means the crew we travel with, not the PC.

• Alistair (pretty sure the fan base has debated over the implications in The Calling plus what's alluded to in game and made the judgment call on his age) is 24.
• Oghren seems about mid/late 30's if not a bit older.
• Zevran fans probably vary, I think the current rough concensus is late 20's/early 30's.
• No idea on Morrigan and Leliana - I place Leliana as the younger of the two, early 20's, and Morrigan mid 20's.
• Shale, several hundred years old.
• Wynne might be 50 or 150. Does it matter? Old biddy range, imo.
• Sten, I'm clueless. Maybe early 40's.
• Dog, 2-3 human years old. What's that in dog years?

Pretty sure that in general, character ages are really determined by the PC. I'm sure there are some people, for example, who see Zevran as being around Alistair's age, whereas I see him around the early 30's mark. Some of them aren't really up for debate, I know Shale's actual age is mentioned but I'm too lazy to dig it up. If you want Morrigan to be 21, that's entirely up to you.

If the OP did mean the Warden character, well, again - judgment call on the player's part. My mage is older than Jowan is, late 20's, although I would agree that Jowan seems like he's in the early/mid 20's.

Actually, I'm guessing that Leliana is mid-to-late-twenties. In a dialogue she has with Wynne, Leli says that perhaps she looks younger than she actually is.

The PCs age is difficult to judge - but probably somewhere in their 20s, varying by Origin. For instance I'd say that the City Elf is probably in the region of 18-22.

Leliana actually makes a remark that she looks younger than she is. I wouldn't be shocked if she was actually in her late twenties, Morrigan similarly. Wynne looks in her 40s but is probably meant to be in the region of 60 (+/- 5 years). I guess she ages well, like her magical bosom.

No actual ages are ever provided though (with the *possible* exception of Shale, but we don't know how old she was before she became a golem; that said, once you get over 300, who's counting?). This means its all pretty-much speculation. Apparently there are some ages in the toolset, but they seem to be wrong. Alistair is apparently listed at 32, which would make him older than Cailan, who's 25.

More or less all the character's ages are determined by their look. I have yet to find something that gives hard evidence of their age.

Nope, there's no way Leliana and Morrigan are younger than Alistair. My guess on the romance characters (that seem to follow the general consensus):

Alistair: ~20

Morrigan: mid-twenties

Leliana: mid-to-late-twenties

Zevran: ~30

Alistair is not 32 by any stretch of the imagination. Well, maybe he is, but if so that makes him even more pathetic.



He's listed in the toolset as 32, but it's generally agreed that that has no bearing on game reality. He's not yet finished his Templar training, so I'd place him at 20 max. There is no place in a medieval military for a person who can't even finish his training until he's past his fighting prime.

The toolset did. But then, apparently, he was originally intended to be older than he ended up. So the toolset likely contains outdated data.

The toolset. Originally, he was supposed to be 32, but due to the storyline and game development, they decided to make him much younger so it would fit in with the story better.

If I had to take a stab at it, I'd say:



Alistair - early 20s

Morrigan - early to mid-20s

Leliana - late 20s to very early 30s

Zevran - early to mid-30s

Sten - mid-40s

Oghren - early 40s

Wynne - mid-60s to 70

Shale - does one keep counting after a few hundred?

Loghain - early to mid-50s

Wynne: 55 (she looks like younger, she seems to act older, but in a medieval society 55 was pretty old)

Elves have the same lifespan as everyone else. There are legends saying that elves once lived for centuries and were somewhat immortal, but now they age and die like everyone else, at the same rate.

Other companions, judging by their characters:

Sten: 35-40
Oghren:35-40
Morrigan: about 25-30 (think the toolset said about 30
Alistair: 20-22
Leliana: about 25-30 (toolset says about 25
Zevran: about 24 or 25, think the toolset said this
Wynne: 55-65
Shale: When she volunteered to become a golem, I'd set her age as about mid 30's
Loghain: he's about 50, when you take stolen Throne into consideration. Which is funny, because that makes him older than Eamon, but Eamon looks and acts alot older.
Dog: who knows. Maybe about 3 or 4.

I would think this as well. The DC is definitely only a teenager, maybe early 20s, and they're already close to an adult. Also, Oghren mentions that Branka had made her invention before reaching 20, so clearly dwarves reach adulthood around the same age as humans. I'd say late 30's is accurate for Oghren, with early 40's at the oldest.

Had to laugh at this. I'm 42 and I look a heck of a lot younger than Wynne - fewer lines and only a couple of grey hairs. To me, Wynne looks to be about 60 - but with a good lower face lift (the lower face is usually the first part to lose the fight with gravity, but I imagine she looks a bit firmer for aesthetic reasons, or because the facial modelling isn't quite advanced enough).
Wynne says she has been alive for a very long time, in one conversation - she talks as though she is 80 or 90 but from her figure and the way she moves around, I'd say a very fit 60.

Leliana - 30 maybe. She has quite a crinkled brow and she has obviously been around a bit. Same with Zevran.

Alistair - mid twenties.
Sten looks about 45 to me, maybe even late 40s. It's hard to say, though, since I don't know how Qunari age. He does look older than the Qunari mercs you run into, though.
Morrigan looks early 20s to me - very firm facial features and no lines to speak of. She acts older, though. Maybe she knows some good youth spells.
Oghren - 38-45. Boozing ages prematurely so he could be younger.

Loghain looks younger than he is. Going by the history, he'd have to be about 50, but he looks mid-forties. The fact he still has jet black hair makes him look younger (certainly a lot younger than Eamon who is grey and beardy and has a lot more lines and furrows).

Anora, we know from one of the letters in RtO, is supposedly close to 30 but she looks younger to me. I'd guess that coming up to 30 could mean anywhere in her late 20s. Cailan was a couple of years younger (which is about right as he looks mid-20s).

As for the player character, they're as old as you want them to be though it wouldn't make much sense to have them more than 30 with their backgrounds.

Ah I see where they would leave the ages ambiguous for the imagine of the player.  I was browsing the ME2 website and saw that all the characters are aged there and thought....huh I never noticed that on the DA website and sure enough ages were not present.  But since the age of Shepard is pretty much set and the age of the Warden is up to the player I understand leaving the ages of the companions pretty much up to the player also.

I always got the feeling that the mage was much younger than some people think, 18-20, especially as they are still an apprentice at that point. Most of the others seem about the same age, Dwarven noble may be older seeing as they are close becoming king/queen but generally they seem quite young to me.
