i'm not sure where else to post this, but my idea is this:
Why
not, as Commander of the team, be able to set up other squad members on
dates, spend time together to become friends, or start a full romance.
The romance option for the main character to pursue a LI is great, but
it hasn't changed much in a long time (though some changes in DA:O).
Just adding homosexual relationships doesn't change the dynamics of the
romance system very much and having multiple partners seems more like a
gimmick than real relationships. If you could help squad members become
more friendly or start a romantic relationship, it would add a lot of
dynamicism (though you would want to be careful who you set up in a
relationship because it could shut down the option of a LI). They would
also probably be somewhat willing to talk with you about the
relationship, seeing that you were the match-maker.
As far as
gameplay, it may give bonuses to characters that are friends or in a
relationship if they are both in your team on a mission.
There
could also be the possibility to create conflict between squad members,
though it should come with some penalties somewhere (possibly just in
combat but also in how open they are with you). This situation could also allow bonuses, if your renegade score was high enough, by making the squad members very competitive with each other.
i'm not saying this would be easy to impliment, but more interaction between squad members can't hurt the enjoyment of the game.
Any ideas?

Well, I don't want to play Shepard the matchmaker
. But I agree that more interaction between squad members would be a great thing. That's something I've always missed on both Mass Effect games. They're adults though, they shouldn't need our help in romancing.
