Are the talents that give bonuses to Paragon/Renegade static?  That is to say after you have that talent, do you get that % more of each Renegade/Paragon every time you get them?  If not, say you retrain your talents, after you retrain, will you net more Renegade/Paragon points?

If you retrain it will undo the effects until you put points in the skills again. I believe it's a multiplier applied to the hidden permanent value.

I know that much.  Let me see if I can explain my question further.  Here's a hypothetical:

Say I have 25 Paragon points and I use rank 1 which is +20%, the result would be 25 * 1.20 = 30, then say through whatever actions, I get 15 more Paragon points.  30 + 15 = 45.  Now say I retrain that power, would I still have 45 points?  Or would it know I have 40 "earned" Paragon points and apply the 20% to that yielding 48 total points ((25 + 15)*1.2 = 48)

The bonus is applied to every morality point, both those gotten before and after upgrading your class skill.

The power boosts both the points you currently have and the points that you gain in each situation.  So technically, your picture looks like this:

You had 25 points.  As you explained, it displays as 30 due to your 20% bonus.
You gain 15 points (while under the effect of your 20% bonus).  In reality you gained (12.5 * 1.20).  If you didn't have the power, you would only have gotten 12.5 (or however the game rounds it).

So hidden underneath, you technically have 37.5 points but they display as 45.

When you retrain the power, when all of your Squad Points are unspent, it will display 37.5, not 45.  When you retrain and regain your 20% bonus, it will put you back at 45.

To head off the inevitable underlying question: No, you can't "game" the retraining process for infinite Paragon and Renegade points.  It seems like thats what you were trying to do.

Wasn't trying to go for infinite but that would have been nice.

I apologize for thinking the worst, but there's been a lot of chatter about people looking for ways  around the system.  BioWare made a much more solid game this time around with a lot fewer loopholes.

A save game editor can basically max out your paragon/renegade for you if you want. I've used one for the ability to max out mine on the playthrough I'm gonna use for ME3 so I can reply how I want without having it screw me later on.

Note: Not everyone plays on the PC.

your thinking about the rep wrong when you gain paragon/renegade rep the bonus does not affect it you keep your pool on the side. It will be the same # regardless of points on any class a action that give 10 paragon rep give 10 paragon rep regardless of points spent into class skill when u spend points in to your class skill you get a % increase in rep that applies to your rep pool so if you have accumulated 100 rep points you recieve 20 making your total 120 however if you respec your total drops down to its original value of 100 until you put the points back in. Watch on your next respec you will see your rep drop and go back up as u put skill points into you class skill
